Arrow+ — Build Your Own Arrows
Arrow+ expands Minecraft archery with customizable arrows crafted from vanilla materials. Combine a head, a shaft and fletching to change how your arrows hit and fly—all in a crafting table.
Build for damage, longer shots, a flatter trajectory or underwater combat. No smeltery or special workstation is required.
Customize Every Part
Arrowheads
Heads determine base damage, ignition and effects on hit. Choose from 19 heads, including flint, copper, iron, diamond and netherite.
Shafts
Shafts change launch speed and gravity. Copper and iron offer more range than wood, while a netherite shaft trades range for higher impact damage and a steeper drop. Bamboo offers lower gravity at the cost of speed.
Fletching
Fletching changes air resistance, underwater resistance, accuracy and gravity. Use a regular feather, try phantom membrane for reduced drop and tighter spread, or craft kelp and prismarine fletching for better underwater performance.
Mix parts freely to find a combination that suits your bow and playstyle.
Simple Crafting
Place your ingredients in one vertical column:
- Top: Arrowhead material
- Middle: Shaft
- Bottom: Fletching
Some materials, such as sticks, bamboo, bone, paper and phantom membrane, work directly as parts. Metal and gem shafts, along with special fletching, have their own crafting recipes.
Flint with a regular stick and feather still makes vanilla arrows. Swap either part to create a modular flint arrow.
Hold Shift over arrows and materials to see their stats. Compact tooltips show the essentials, while expanded tooltips explain damage, speed, drop, drag and spread.
More Ways to Use Your Arrows
- Add potion effects while keeping your chosen head, shaft and fletching.
- Fire Arrow+ arrows from bows, crossbows and dispensers.
- See arrow colors change on your bow as you draw it.
- Use JEI to browse materials and recipes, including combinations with different parts.
- Add Fletching Recipe to craft arrows at the Fletching Table for double the output.
Datapack Customization
Heads, shafts and fletching are defined through datapacks. Modpack creators can adjust existing materials or add new ones without writing Java code.
Customize damage, ignition, effects, launch speed, gravity, air and water resistance, accuracy, colors and crafting output.
Visit the Arrow+ Wiki for recipes, material stats, an interactive arrow builder and datapack documentation.
Versions and Installation
The modular arrow system is available on Fabric and NeoForge starting with:
| Minecraft | Arrow+ version |
|---|---|
| 26.3 | 26.3.0.2 |
| 26.2 | 26.2.0.2 |
| 26.1.2 | 26.1.2.104 |
Install the Arrow+ file matching your Minecraft version and mod loader. Fabric installations also require Fabric API. JEI and Fletching Recipe are optional.
Older Arrow+ releases use different crafting and customization systems. Select the matching documentation using the wiki’s version switcher.
When updating from an earlier Arrow+ build on the same Minecraft version, existing arrows migrate to the modular system while preserving their counts, potion contents, custom names and custom data. Back up your world before updating.

### Fixes
- Fixed a startup crash on NeoForge 26.3.0.97 caused by a removed registry-registration method, reported when using JEI
- Updated NeoForge registry registration and data generation to the current API
- NeoForge 26.3.0.97 or newer is now required

### Modular arrows
- Build arrows from a **head**, a **stick** and a **feather**, with any combination of parts
- Heads set base damage, ignition and on-hit effects; sticks set gravity and launch speed; feathers set air drag, water drag, spread and a gravity multiplier
- Arrow stacks must have matching parts, potion contents and other item data to stack together
- Stick, bamboo, bone, blaze rod and breeze rod are used directly; copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald and netherite sticks are crafted and have their own flight stats
- Feather, phantom membrane and paper are used directly; added Kelp and Prismarine Feathers, and gave the Gilded Feather its own stats
- Wooden rods (
#c:rods/wooden) and feathers (#c:feathers) from other mods work as parts - Flint is now a head for modular combinations; flint, a vanilla stick and a vanilla feather still craft vanilla arrows
- Parts used directly are also available in the material creative tab
### Flight balance
- Copper and iron extend the range of a wooden shaft; netherite trades range for higher launch damage and a steeper drop
- Bamboo trades launch speed and damage for lower gravity; diamond and emerald have distinct speed and gravity tradeoffs
- Phantom membrane reduces shaft gravity by 40%, retains 99.5% of speed per tick in air, and uses 80% of vanilla spread
- Kelp fletching retains 95% of speed per tick underwater, with more air drag and spread than a vanilla feather
- Prismarine fletching retains 85% of speed per tick underwater and uses 90% of vanilla spread
### Tooltips
- Compact arrow tooltips show the stick, feather, base damage and launch speed
- Hold Shift for grouped **Combat** and **Flight** stats, including combined arrow drop and effects on hit
- Drop and spread use multipliers against vanilla; the repeated vanilla-baseline footer is removed
- Infinity uses readable support text, and an ignition line appears only for heads that ignite targets
- Ingredients show **Arrow material** and **Hold [Shift] for stats**; Shift reveals their roles, craftable parts and stats
- Custom sticks and feathers show a role label and Shift hint, with their stats on Shift
- Vanilla arrows use the same stat layout; improved values are green, worse values red and unchanged values white
- Localized the new text in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Hong Kong Chinese; corrected a Traditional Chinese tooltip that used Simplified Chinese
### JEI
- Show every eligible stick and feather in the modular arrow recipe
- Generate exact crafting and tipping recipes on demand when looking up arrows with non-default sticks or feathers
- Fixed duplicate vanilla tipped-arrow subtype registration with Fletching Recipe installed, preserving potion and explosive variants
- Fixed recipe-id collisions between heads, potions and datapack namespaces
- Retained the item field types used by released Fletching Recipe integrations
### Fixes
- Deprecated stick and feather items keep their custom n
