Compact F3 Plus

A minimal, fully customizable HUD overlay for NeoForge, Forge and Fabric that replaces the vanilla F3 debug screen with a clean, readable interface.

Modes

  • Replace F3 (default): F3 opens the compact HUD instead of the vanilla debug screen.
  • Standalone: Keep vanilla F3 intact and toggle the HUD separately via F8 (rebindable in Controls).

HUD Elements

  • FPS - current, average and 1% low, with dynamic color indicators based on thresholds
  • RAM usage
  • Lag meter - stutter rate monitor for diagnosing frame drops
  • Server TPS
  • GPU and CPU in use
  • XYZ coordinates
  • Matching Nether / Overworld coordinates
  • Network ping
  • Facing direction: cardinal + axis + pitch
  • Biome and dimension
  • Block and sky light levels
  • Local difficulty
  • Session timer
  • In-game time and day counter
  • Slime chunk indicator
  • Horizontal and vertical movement speed
  • Item durability
  • Currently playing music track
  • Rendered entity count
  • Dropped items in sight
  • Crop growth progress
  • Targeted block, fluid, and entity
  • Blockstate properties of the targeted block

Configuration

Every element can be individually toggled. The HUD can be anchored to any screen corner with adjustable X and Y offsets.

Settings are saved to

config/compactf3plus-client.toml (NeoForge, Forge)

config/compactf3plus.json (Fabric)

and accessible via Mod Menu (Fabric) or the NeoForge / Forge mod list.

## 1.2.5

The 1.2.x line comes to 26.x. The previous 26.x release was 1.1.6, so this covers everything since then.

  • One jar for every 26.x version**
  • One NeoForge jar and one Fabric jar, each running on **26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3**.

  • Config**
  • Your 1.1.6 settings carry over. On NeoForge the settings now live in config/compactf3plus-client.toml on first start they are copied from the old compactf3plus.json. Fabric keeps using compactf3plus.json.

## 1.2.5

  • Added**
  • An **Order** tab in the settings: arrange the HUD lines in any order you like.

  • Changed**
  • NeoForge and Fabric have separate jars again
  • The GPU line now shows only the card's name. Driver, chip, compiler,
DRM and kernel details are cut.
  • Biome and Dimension show readable names instead of ids: Biome: Dark Forest rather than minecraft:dark_forest.
  • Biomes and dimensions from mods keep the mod's namespace in brackets.

  • Performance**
  • The HUD costs about a fifth of what it did: measured with every line on, about 0.27 ms per frame before, about 0.055 ms now.

## 1.2.1

  • New**
  • "All Nearby" option for the Dropped Items line (Details tab, off by default). The line then shows seen / total, like vanilla's entity counter: Dropped Items: 12/340 (3/45 stacks).
  • Singleplayer: the total counts every dropped item within your render distance.
  • Multiplayer: the total counts the items the server sends you, so it is limited by the servers entity tracking range, not your render distance.
  • It is a single number with no positions or directions. The first number is still only the items you can actually see.

  • Changed**
  • Forge support removed. Changed my mind on supporting it

One jar for NeoForge, Forge and Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.1. Forge is supported on 1.21.1 for the first time.

### New
  • GPU and CPU lines
  • 1% low FPS on the FPS line
  • Matching Nether / Overworld coordinates
  • Dropped items in sight - counts only items you can actually see
  • Facing line now shows the axis you are moving along (-X, +Z, ...)
  • Block light turns red where hostile mobs can spawn right now (with color indicators on)
  • LSFG frame generation rate (with LSFGMine installed)

### Settings screen
  • Redesigned: tabs, two columns, grouped sections
  • Tooltips on every option
  • Options that depend on another one are greyed out while it is off
  • Reset All now asks for confirmation

### Fixes
  • F3+1 / F3+2 / F3+3 no longer close the compact HUD
  • Local difficulty showed wrong (too low) values
  • Lag and 1% low no longer include old frames from before the HUD was opened
  • No longer crashes a dedicated server when installed there by mistake
  • TPS respects /tick rate instead of capping at 20

### Compatibility
  • Settings from 1.1.6.x carry over unchanged
  • Fabric: requires Fabric API. Cloth Config is no longer needed, Mod Menu is optional
  • NeoForge and Forge need nothing else
