🍺 Drink Beer Refill
Drink Beer Refill is the actively maintained NeoForge revival of Drink Beer.
Brew and display your own beer, mix drinks with magical spices, discover hidden flavor combinations, barter for rare ingredients, and decorate your tavern with restored content from the upstream 4.0 release.
This revival is maintained with permission from original creator Lekavar.
✨ Features
- Nine distinct beers!
- Brew!
- Mix beer with different spices.
- Discover special flavor combinations whose results depend on the spices and their order.
- Barter for rare spices through the Trade Box.
🎄 Upstream 4.0 Holiday Content
The authorized upstream holiday content has returned:
- Four colors of presents, each with four possible appearances.
- Presents containing beer, spices, or decorative wooden horses.
- Center-mounted and wall-mounted colored lights with eight appearances.
- The Star of Bethlehem and Great Star of Bethlehem.
- Three decorative two-block wooden horses.
- Horse neighs, bells, gift-opening sounds, light emission, particles, recipes, and localized names.
🍺 Brewing
- Craft and place a keg.
- Open it and insert the four ingredients required by a brewing recipe.
- Add the required empty beer mugs.
- Wait for brewing to finish.
- Take out the completed beer and enjoy!
The order of the four ingredients does not matter.

Keg automation
- Top: brewing ingredients
- Horizontal sides: empty beer mugs
- Bottom: completed beer and returned buckets
Inputs remain safely stored while brewing and are consumed only when brewing completes.
🤝 Bartering
Use the Trade Box to barter with visitors from different places and obtain unique spices for bartending.

🍸 Bartending
- Use a beer on the bartending table to place it on the surface.
- Open the drawer.
- Add up to three spices.
- Experiment with different spices and insertion orders to discover hidden combinations.
- Use an empty hand to take the finished drink.
The placed beer and spices are visibly rendered on the table, and mixed-beer data is preserved when the drink is removed or placed in the world.
Bartending automation
- Top: beer input
- Horizontal sides: spice input
- Bottom: mixed-beer output
Invalid hopper inputs are rejected safely.

This version is preparation for mod cross-mod compat.
### Added
- Added tank-only source and flowing fluids for all nine base beers, with one mug equal to 250 mB.
- Added standard Fabric Transfer API and NeoForge fluid-item capabilities for draining and filling beer mugs.
- Added per-beer fluid tags, the aggregate
#drinkbeer:beerstag, localized fluid names, and cross-loader regression coverage. - Added an optional NeoForge Create milk-sprite atlas pack that contains metadata only and activates only when both external Create textures exist.
### Fixed
- Fixed Create 6.0.x JEI Spout pages showing 1000 mB for beer mugs that actually accept 250 mB, without adding duplicate filling recipes.
### Compatibility
- Beer fluids are non-placeable and have no buckets. Create is optional; NeoForge creamy beers reference its milk textures only when both files are available, while Fabric and all fallback paths use vanilla water textures.
- The Create/JEI display patch is optional, client-only, limited to DrinkBeer fluids, and fails closed if Create changes the targeted method.
- Mixed beer remains item-only so its base-beer and spice components are never discarded by fluid conversion.
- Beer barrels keep their existing mug-based production and are not converted into fluid tanks.

- Added center and side colored lights, both Stars of Bethlehem, and all three two-block horse models.
- Added the upstream gift-opening, neigh, and bell sounds, models, textures, crafting recipes, loot tables, and translations.
- Added configurable beer saturation with an improved default of
0.1;0.0restores the exact upstream no-saturation behavior. - Added regression coverage for upstream beer values, gift rewards, holiday resources, and server-authoritative special drink behavior.
This release migrates the project to a native Fabric and NeoForge multi-loader layout for Minecraft 1.21.1. It does not depend on Architectury Loom, Architectury Gradle Plugin, or Architectury API.
### Added
- Added a Fabric 0.19.3 build with Fabric API 0.116.12+1.21.1 and Fabric Loom 1.14.10.

1.21.1-20240808.144430, Parchment2024.11.17, and JEI 19.21.0.246. - Fabric now stores server settings in
<world>/serverconfig/drinkbeer-server.json; NeoForge continues to usedrinkbeer-server.tomlwith matching fields, defaults, and ranges.
### Fixed
- Fixed transparent planes on the holiday stars and colored lights rendering as black on Fabric by registering their cutout render layer.
### Compatibility
- Preserved registry IDs, resource paths, NBT and codec formats, including the existing
drinkbeer:refreash_tradeboxpayload ID. - Verified both dedicated-server GameTest suites and loading NeoForge-created test worlds on Fabric and Fabric-created test worlds on NeoForge.

## Drink Beer Refill 1.3.0-beta.1
This is the first maintenance release after the project revival. It targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and requires NeoForge 21.1.244 or newer.
### Fixed
- Restored block drops on Minecraft 1.21.1 by moving all 41 loot tables to the correct
loot_table/blocksdata-pack directory. - Fixed the first spice crashing the bartending table when a mixed-beer component contained fewer than three entries.
- Fixed bartending-table beer placement, spice insertion, drawer toggling, beer retrieval, and overlapping-model interaction problems.
- Fixed hopper insertion into the bartending table crashing because the advertised item handler exposed nonexistent inventory slots.
- Reworked keg state synchronization so brewing completes and the finished beer can be removed.
- Kegs now consume exactly one of each ingredient and the configured number of cups only when brewing completes; stacked ingredients are no longer deleted wholesale.
- Fixed automation side rules and input validation for kegs and bartending tables.
- Kegs and bartending tables now return their real stored contents when broken.
- Fixed mixed beer being reset when placed, picked up, or migrated from legacy
BlockEntityTag/MixedBeerdata. - Fixed mixed-beer spice/flavor combination matching and integer persistence.
- Beer now restores saturation as well as hunger, and both values are shown in tooltips.
- Fixed trade-box cooldowns and offers only progressing while a menu was open.
- Hardened trade-box refresh packets against remote positions, unrelated menus, invalid block entities, and off-thread handling.
- Fixed the trade-box refresh button requiring the player to keep looking at the block while its screen was open.
- Prevented trade offer display slots from being shift-clicked or dropped by breaking the trade box.
- Hardened drunkenness handling against invalid amplifiers and moved drink-side inventory/effect mutations to the logical server.
- Fixed Drunk Frost Walker removing itself after its first effect tick.
- Fixed recipe-board-to-beer lookup comparing translated text with an internal id.
### Changed
- Empty-hand interaction with the bartending table retrieves the beer; use the drawer face or sneak-use to toggle the drawer.
- Beer is placed directly on the bartending table. Spices may be used anywhere on the table while the drawer is open.
- Bartending tables expose beer input on top, spice input on horizontal sides, and finished-beer output on the bottom.
- Kegs expose ingredients on top, cups on horizontal sides, and output/returned buckets on the bottom.
- World-changing Stormy and Drying flavor effects no longer load chunks and are capped at 4096 changed blocks per drink by default. Both behaviors are configurable in
drinkbeer-server.toml. - Updated NeoForge from 21.1.72 to 21.1.244, ModDevGradle to 2.0.143, Gradle to 9.2.1, Parchment mappings, and the publishing plugin.
- Declared exact Minecraft 1.21.1 compatibility and a minimum NeoForge version of 21.1.244.
### Development
- Added NeoForge-aware JUnit 5 coverage for spice components, brewing recipes, legacy mixed-beer migration, drunkenness bounds, JSON parsing, and resource layout.
- Added a GitHub Actions CI workflow that validates the Gradle wrapper, builds, tests, and uploads the JAR.
- Modernized the manual publishing workflow and enabled both client and dedicated-server metadata for CurseForge.
