🔧 FPS Horizon v1.3.0 – Beta (release candidate)
🇬🇧 English
This is the first version that actually works.
All previous versions (1.0.0 – 1.2.0) were alpha – unstable and full of visual holes.
💡 Have ideas to improve FPS Horizon? I'd love to hear them — leave your suggestions on GitHub!
✅ What's new / fixed in 1.3.0
- No more holes when moving or changing render distance
- No more F3+A – chunks now load smoothly
- Chunk retention while render distance increases
- Silent RD changes – no world reloads or flickering
- Removed obsolete options (vertical/horizontal scales, culling profiles)
🧪 Status
This is a beta release – feature‑complete and stable in my tests.
If no critical bugs are reported, it will become the official stable release.
🐞 Found a bug?
Please report it on GitHub so I can fix it before the stable release:

This is my first mod – every report helps a lot. ❤️

Thank you for testing / Gracias por probar

How to Install Fps horizon (Mod)
Fps horizon by Kratos_del_pueblo_Paleta is verified for Forge, Neoforge across Minecraft versions 1.20.1, 1.21.1 (latest release: 1.3.0, file size: 85 KB). Follow the steps below to install it safely from ModCraft.tv:
- Click the Download button above and select your Minecraft version (1.20.1, 1.21.1) and platform (Forge, Neoforge).
- Make sure you have the compatible loader or environment installed for Forge, Neoforge.
- Move the downloaded Fps horizon file into your Minecraft
.minecraft/modsfolder and launch the game.
All Versions
+ Add Version- Ported the mod from Forge 1.20.1 to NeoForge 1.21.1.
- Maintained all performance optimizations, dynamic render distance logic, and smooth fog transitions.
After several buggy alphas and betas, **this version finally fixes the visual holes** and the need to press F3+A.
The culling system has been rewritten from scratch, properly synchronised with Embeddium.
### ✅ What's new / fixed
- No more holes** when moving or changing render distance
- No more F3+A** – chunks now appear/disappear smoothly
- Chunk retention** while render distance increases
- Silent render distance changes** – no world reloads or flickering
- Removed obsolete options** (vertical/horizontal scales, culling profiles)
- Better debug info** – verbose mode shows culling stats

## ✨ What's New
### Dynamic Simulation Distance
- Added **Simulation Distance** category with three smart control modes:
FPS,MS(server tick), andFPS+MS. - Adjustable min/max simulation distance, cooldown ticks, and performance thresholds.
- Automatically disables MS mode on external multiplayer servers to avoid unreliable adjustments.
### UI & Configuration Improvements
- Merged Render Distance, FPS Control, and Cooldowns into a single category.
- Two‑column layout on the Simulation Distance screen – all options visible at a glance.
- Fixed slider text positioning (labels left, values right).
- Visual warnings when config values conflict (min > max).
### Advanced Culling Adjustments
- Disables horizontal culling at **Render Distance ≤ 4 chunks** – prevents black gaps when moving sideways.
- Added **15% radius margin** to the culling ellipsoid – reduces chunk pop‑in.
- Fog transitions now sync with culling profile changes – eliminates visual gaps when switching profiles.
## 🐞 Known Issues (current version)
- Visual holes** sometimes appear when moving or changing render distance, especially at low RD (2‑4 chunks).
- F3+A** (reload chunks) temporarily fixes the holes – a clear sign that the culling system and the render engine are not always synchronized.
- Horizontal culling** can be too aggressive on some setups, causing chunks to disappear earlier than expected.
> *Why does this happen?*
> The mod uses an ellipsoid (3D shape) to decide which chunks to render.
> But the render engine (Embeddium/vanilla) doesn't always immediately update when the ellipsoid changes – so some chunks remain invisible even though they should be visible, or vice versa.
## 🛠️ What I'm working on (next fixes)
- Complete rework of the culling system** – moving from a complex ellipsoid with hysteresis to a simpler, more stable formula inspired by proven mods (like Better Render Distance).
- Better synchronization with Embeddium** – using the official
RenderSectionDistanceFilterEventAPI instead of fragile mixins, so the engine always knows when the culling shape changes. - Removing the need for F3+A** – automatically notifying the renderer when render distance or culling parameters change, without full world reloads.
- Smoother vertical culling** – adding a small extra margin to the vertical axis to prevent holes when looking up/down.
> *First version was buggy, I know.*
> I'm learning and improving step by step. The next update will focus **100% on stability** – no new features until the culling system works flawlessly.
## 📌 Notes for testers
- If you experience holes, please **share your render distance, vertical scale, and whether you use Embeddium**.
- Temporary workaround: press **F3+A** to reload chunks.
- Help me fix it faster – report issues on GitHub/GitLab.
Thank you for your patience. ❤️
Improved: Overall stability during chunk updates.
⚠️ KNOWN BUG IN THIS VERSION (v1.1.1): There is a known issue with the new vertical culling system. When moving up or down quickly (changing altitude), sections of the world might temporarily disappear or leave visual gaps (holes).
👉 Quick Fix:
- On PC: Press F3 + A to force a silent reload of the chunks and fix the visual gaps instantly.
- On Android: Changing your render distance by 1 chunk in the video settings will also force the world to reload and fix it.
⚠️ **KNOWN BUG IN THIS VERSION:** This version has a known issue where user configurations might not save correctly, and visual gaps (holes) can appear in the world during dynamic rendering.
👉 **Fix:** Please download version **v1.1.1 (Beta)** or newer, where this issue has been completely fixed!
