FREX is a rendering API for Minecraft mods to create content that wouldn't normally be possible.
FREX is currently only available for Fabric but a Forge version is planned.
FREX includes a built-in renderer (Pastel) that implements most of its features (except shaders) but it's possible to create a mod with a different/better implementation. Canvas is currently the only renderer that implements FREX.
Renderers and mods that use FREX (like JMX) will generally include it so you probably don't need to download and install it separately. It's listed here only for visibility.
How to Install FREX (Mod)
FREX by grondag is verified for Fabric, Quilt across Minecraft versions 1.18.1, 1.18.2, 1.19, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.19.4, 1.20, 1.20.1 (latest release: fabric-20.2.353, file size: 639 KB). Follow the steps below to install it safely from ModCraft.tv:
- Click the Download button above and select your Minecraft version (1.18.1, 1.18.2, 1.19, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.19.4, 1.20, 1.20.1) and platform (Fabric, Quilt).
- Make sure you have the compatible loader or environment installed for Fabric, Quilt.
- Move the downloaded FREX file into your Minecraft
.minecraft/modsfolder and launch the game.
