ABOUT
Moog's Mineshafts Reimagined adds a new, better type of abandoned mineshaft alongside Minecraft's vanilla ones, without replacing them. These hand-built versions are larger and made entirely from vanilla blocks and entities. Each is a complex, randomly generating jigsaw structure of connected tunnels and rooms packed with loot, mob spawners, and interesting rooms. It works in any modpack and does not change how the rest of the game looks or plays.
A different mineshaft generates depending on the biome above it.
REQUIRED
This mod needs Moog's Structure Lib installed on the server.
FEEDBACK
If you have an idea to improve the mineshafts, leave a comment or post it in the Discord. All feedback is welcome.

STRUCTURES
- Mineshaft (taiga and similar overworld biomes), 50 pieces. The base reimagined mineshaft: branching tunnels, support framing, and loot rooms.
- Desert Mineshaft, 55 pieces. Generates under deserts. Sandstone tunnels with above ground paths, a quarry, an archaeology dig with suspicious sand, a stable, and a vault and trial spawner room.

- Jungle Mineshaft, 43 pieces. Generates under jungles. Overgrown tunnels with a brewing room, a furnace that opens a hidden door, and a staircase down into the network.
- Mesa Mineshaft, 34 pieces. Generates under badlands. A wide spreading network of badlands themed tunnels, corners, and staircases that reaches further across the map than the other mineshafts.
- Snowy Mineshaft, 34 pieces. Generates under snowy biomes. A spread out network of frozen tunnels, corners, and staircases linking the levels.
- Nether Mineshaft, 41 pieces. Generates in the nether. Tunnels reworked to fit the nether, with a mess hall, a TNT trapped corner, a start room, and a rare warden corridor that appears at most once per mineshaft.
Each mineshaft is a jigsaw structure, so the layout and which rooms appear changes every time one generates. Loot ranges from common supply barrels up to rarer treasure chests and vaults, with several themed variants of each so chests differ between rooms.

- Minecraft 26.2 support (validator and pack format range extended to 1.21–26.2).
### Changed
- Tuned overworld mineshaft spacing for mansion-tier rarity (mineshaft, mesa_mineshaft, nether_mineshaft) based on /locate grid measurements against woodland mansion spacing.
### Fixed
- Restored compatibility with Minecraft 1.21–1.21.4 by fixing item-component shape mismatches the pre-1.21.5 codec rejected:
minecraft:dyed_colorinsnowy_mineshaftloot now uses the integer form instead of{"rgb": N}.minecraft:written_book_contentpage text injungle_mineshaftspecial crossings is now JSON-encoded so the strict Component codec accepts it.minecraft:enchantmentsinmineshaft/intersection_8and_9now uses the flat enchant-ID map instead of the post-1.21.5levelswrapper.- Sign messages across 28 NBTs are now JSON-encoded
""so theFilteredText<Component>codec accepts them. pack.mcmetanow declaressupported_formats: [48, 107]so MC 1.21.9+ doesn't reject the pack range.- Removed a stray evoker spawn egg left in a dispenser in
mineshaft/intersection_8.
### Added
- Custom
#mmr:biome tags so structure biome lists resolve identically across Fabric 1.20.x (where Convention Tags v2 names differ from 1.20.5+) and Forge 1.20.x (which uses theforge:namespace). - Explicit 1.20.5 and 1.20.6 version mappings so MSL picks the right template per MC, with entity item format adjusted for the 1.20.6 component overhaul.
### Changed
- Ported to 1.20–1.20.6. Substituted 1.21-only blocks and entities (tuff variants → stone variants, copper bulbs → shroomlights, crafter → dropper, bogged → stray, decorated pot palette adjusted). Reshaped sign and item NBTs for the 1.20 codec. Renamed
structure/andloot_table/paths to the plural form 1.20 expects. - Vault rooms now use chest loot (no 1.20.x equivalent for vaults / trial spawners).
- Replaced the 1.21 guster banner pattern with a 1.20-safe alternative.
- Tuned overworld mineshaft spacing for mansion-tier rarity (ported from 1.21-datapack).
### Removed
- Ominous loot tables and trial-spawner pieces (no 1.20.x equivalent).
- 1.21-only processors and
1_21_9/NBT version-forks (not needed on 1.20.x).
- Snowy mineshafts now generate a surface entrance building that descends into the tunnels, with its own entrance loot including dyed and enchanted leather boots for crossing the mineshaft's powdered snow.
### Changed
- Snowy mineshafts now spawn on relatively flat terrain so the surface entrance sits cleanly, and their underground pieces are buried rather than carved into the ground.
### Added
- Six biome-specific reimagined mineshafts: base (taiga and similar overworld biomes), desert, jungle, mesa, snowy, and nether.
- Hand-built jigsaw tunnels and rooms made from vanilla blocks and entities, with loot, mob spawners, and feature rooms.
- Themed loot variants for supply barrels, miner chests, and treasure so containers vary between rooms, plus vaults and trial spawners.
