Overview:
Nox is a mob and difficulty overhaul striving to make a return to when nights were scary, legitimately threatening, and a present threat.
Almost every monster in the game has been directly affected. A list of changes can be viewed here.
Note: Nox is in beta and requires feedback as to the balance of it's changes. Basic configuration is available, more is being planned.
Additional information:
Nox must be installed on the server. Client installation is optional.
Forge ports are not planned. However, the license allows anyone else to do so.
Nox is heavily (to the point of stealing ideas) inspired by these mods:
How to Install Nox (Mod)
Nox by stormdirus2 is verified for Fabric, Quilt across Minecraft versions 1.18, 1.18-pre1, 1.18-pre2, 1.18-pre3, 1.18-pre4, 1.18-pre5, 1.18-pre6, 1.18-pre7 (latest release: v2.4, file size: 187 KB). Follow the steps below to install it safely from ModCraft.tv:
- Click the Download button above and select your Minecraft version (1.18, 1.18-pre1, 1.18-pre2, 1.18-pre3, 1.18-pre4, 1.18-pre5, 1.18-pre6, 1.18-pre7) and platform (Fabric, Quilt).
- Make sure you have the compatible loader or environment installed for Fabric, Quilt.
- Move the downloaded Nox file into your Minecraft
.minecraft/modsfolder and launch the game.

- New config using MidnightConfig! (Pretty barebones rn, create an issue if ya need something)
- Slime spawn adjusted
- Witch spawnrate increased
- Creeper breaching less sporadic
- Shield bait timing more forgiving
- Attribute changes are now temporary and are removed when Nox is removed
- Zombies no longer lunge, no longer resist knockback, and are instead faster
- Pouncing less aggressive
- Iron Golem sweep hitbox more consistent
- Projectiles no longer go through hostile allies
- Block mining goal requires mob to have seen the target at least once
- Witches are heavily buffed and aim more consistently
- Slime poison cloud windup increased
- Strays and Cave Spiders inflict Slowness III instead of II
- Endermen inflict Darkness instead of Blindness
