⚔️ Open Parties and Claims: Warfare

Warfare Showcase

Turn your peaceful Open Parties and Claims (OPaC) server into an epic arena of territorial conquest, tactical sieges, and diplomatic warfare!

Open Parties and Claims: Warfare bridges the gap between peaceful claim protection and thrilling faction PvP. Players can declare wars against rival claims, engage in dynamic chunk-by-chunk sieges, track active conflicts on their minimap, and fight for land while keeping offline bases safe with configurable raid windows.

📚 Guides & Documentation

🌟 Key Features

🚩 Tactical Chunk Wars & Conquest

  • Border-Based Warfare: Declare war on neighboring hostile claims from the border. Deep core territory cannot be bypassed without securing border chunks first!
  • Sector Wedge Conquest: Take control of strategic wedges of connected territory in a single, hard-fought campaign.

🛡️ Balanced Capture & Anti-Zerg Mechanics

  • Presence-Driven Capture: Attackers advance the siege progress bar by holding the contested zone; defenders push it back by defending the territory.
  • Anti-Zerg Protection: Diminishing returns prevent massive zergs from instantly steamrolling smaller, well-fortified teams. Skill and endurance decide the victor!
  • AFK Protection: Idle players do not contribute to siege progress.

⏰ Fair-Play Raid Windows & Cooldowns

  • No 4 AM Offline Raids: Define exact server raid hours (e.g., 18:00 - 22:00) so battles only happen when players are online and ready to fight.
  • Strategic Cooldowns: Configurable attack and defense cooldowns prevent spam declarations and give defeated parties time to regroup.

In-Game Siege Action

❤️ War Lives & Live Scoreboard

  • High-Stakes Combat: Every warrior receives limited war lives per siege. Lose your lives, and you're out of the battle!
  • Sidebar HUD: Real-time scoreboard display keeps everyone informed of remaining lives and combat status.

🗺️ Full Xaero's Map Integration

  • Fair-Play War Markers: View active conflict zones and timers directly on Xaero's Minimap and Xaero's World Map.
  • Right-Click War Start: Simply right-click any eligible enemy border chunk directly on Xaero's World Map to initiate a siege!

🔔 Discord Webhooks

  • Automatically broadcast war declarations, phase transitions, and final siege outcomes directly to your server's Discord channel with rich embeds.

⚔️ How Sieges Work

  [ /war start ] ────► [ Preparation Phase ] ────► [ Active Battle ] ────► [ Resolution ]
Target border chunk Defenders & attackers Fight for zone; 100% = Captured!
or Xaero right-click gear up & rally drain enemy lives Timeout = Defended!
  1. Declaration: A party declares war on an adjacent rival chunk using /war start or the Xaero World Map menu.
  2. Preparation: A countdown gives defenders time to rally their allies, build fortifications, and prepare gear.
  3. Active Phase: The chunk becomes contested! Normal claim restrictions relax for combatants:
    • Stand inside the zone to capture or defend.
    • Watch the capture bossbar and sidebar lives.
    • Glowing effects keep combatants visible and prevent hiding in corners.
  4. Resolution:
    • If attackers reach 100% progress, the chunk is claimed by the attackers!
    • If defenders hold out until time expires or deplete enemy lives, the siege fails and peace is restored.

🧩 Mod Compatibility & Ecosystem

🛡️ Official Companion Mod: Better Protection

Looking for Create contraption support, cannon warfare, and custom block-damage rules during sieges? 👉 Open Parties and Claims: Better Protection

  • When installed together, siege zones automatically allow Create drills, cannon impacts (Create Big Cannons), and tactical breaching in actively contested chunks while keeping peaceful claims 100% secure!

⚔️ Official Companion Mod: Combat Log

Prevent combat logging and tactical escapes into safe territory during wars and PvP: 👉 Open Parties and Claims: Combat Log (Modrinth | CurseForge)

  • Anti-Safezone Fleeing: Blocks tagged players from retreating into safe claims, peaceful territories, or non-PvP zones mid-fight.
  • Fair Sieges: Tags combatants during PvP and territorial wars, punishing combat logging and ensuring contested battles are fought to the finish!

Added 26.x compat!

## 1.6.7.1

### Changed

  • Updated the mod version to 1.6.7.1.
  • Updated Minecraft version metadata to [1.21.1,) to add support for Minecraft 1.21.11+ and subsequent releases under the new versioning system.
  • Updated NeoForge version metadata to [21.1.232,) to remove obsolete assumptions about hypothetical 1.22/1.23 release numbering and the outdated 27.0 ceiling.
  • Updated compatibility, development, and administration documentation to align with current versioning.
## 1.6.7

### Added

  • Added configurable contested-war entity interaction exceptions through entity_interaction.contested_exceptions.
  • Added corpse:corpse as the default exception, allowing attacking and defending war participants to right-click Corpse entities in the target entity's contested chunk without OPaC blocking the interaction.
  • Added support for additional exact namespace:path entity IDs; setting the list to [] disables the feature.
  • Added optional anonymous dedicated-server heartbeat metrics.
  • Added metrics.enabled and metrics.endpoint configuration options for controlling metrics collection and delivery.
  • Added a persistent random anonymous server_id stored in world/customclaims/metrics/server-id.txt.
  • Metrics heartbeats report only the CustomClaims, Minecraft, and NeoForge versions, online player count, and presence flags for OPaC, Create, CBC, Aeronautics/Offroad, Xaero, and Corpse.

### Changed

  • Updated the mod version to 1.6.7.
  • Entity interaction exception checks now use the target entity's chunk and the current config value, so config reloads take effect immediately.
  • Eligible interactions reuse the existing temporary OPaC full-pass mechanism and clear it on the next server tick.

### Notes

  • Corpse remains an optional dependency; the default corpse:corpse entry is harmless when Corpse is not installed.
  • The exception applies only to attacking and defending participants in an active contested chunk. Outsiders, peaceful claims, unclaimed chunks, and finished wars keep normal OPaC behavior.
  • Corpse ownership and access restrictions are still respected.
  • Other mods' canceled interaction events are not uncanceled.
  • Attacking an entity does not grant the bypass.
  • Metrics run only on dedicated servers and send at most one asynchronous heartbeat every 30 minutes.
  • metrics.endpoint is empty by default, so no metrics request is sent until a server owner configures an endpoint.
  • Metrics never include the server IP or hostname, player names, world seed, or other identifying data.
  • Set metrics.enabled = false and restart the server to disable metrics completely.

## 1.6.6

### Added

  • Persistent attack and defense cooldown windows for war declarations, including saved slot usage after restarts.
  • Configurable cooldown durations and target-chunk limits for each role.
  • war/side-cooldowns.dat for persisted cooldown state.
  • A separate /claimrules assembly rule for Create and Sable contraption assembly.
  • Settings for global war notifications, bossbars, and Xaero markers.

### Changed

  • Updated the mod version to 1.6.6.
  • Daily outgoing and incoming war-start limits are disabled by default (0) but remain available as optional additional quotas.
  • Post-war protection now applies to all claims owned by the defending side rather than individual chunks.
  • Replaced max_active_wars_per_party with role-specific cooldown limits; a side cannot attack and defend at the same time.
  • /claimrules create now covers only Create and Offroad mining machines; assembly is controlled through /claimrules assembly.
  • Removed storage-specific protection, leaving container access and breaking behavior to vanilla and OPaC.
  • Villager, wandering trader, and Wither protections are disabled by default and remain configurable opt-ins.
  • War notifications, bossbars, and Xaero markers for active/preparing wars are visible to all compatible players by default; settings can restore side-, admin-, and radius-based filtering.

### Fixed

  • Fixed denied Sable assemblies potentially leaving an orphan sub-level and causing a critical server error.
  • Fixed Sable assembly bounds detection, removing misleading reflection warnings and unnecessary fallback handling.
  • Create and Sable assemblies now validate all eight source AABB corners when crossing claims.

### Notes

  • The first successful declaration starts fixed windows: 2 hours for the attacker and 1 hour for the defender by default.
  • Later successful starts consume slots without extending the window.
  • A duration of 0 disables only the timed quota, not the concurrent-war limit.
  • Xaero markers contain active-war metadata only and never expose a global claim-owner map.
## 1.6.4

### Added

  • Added a separate /claimrules assembly rule for Create and optional Sable contraption assembly.
  • Added assembly status/toggle permissions and a dedicated Claim Rules GUI control.
  • Added optional Sable 2.0.3 assembly protection compatibility.

### Changed

  • Kept /claimrules create for Create and Offroad drills and saws only.
  • Create and Sable assembly now validates all eight source AABB corners when a structure reaches claims; all corners must be peaceful claims of one side with assembly enabled.
  • Fully unclaimed structures remain assemblable, while active contested-war chunks retain their previous behavior.
  • Existing create settings and cooldowns are copied to the new assembly rule on first upgrade.
  • Updated the optional claim-rules GUI protocol to version 2 and documented keybind reassignment through Minecraft controls.

## 1.6.3

Small balance and compatibility update focused on daily war limits.

### Added

  • Daily limit for how many territory fights one attacking side can start.
  • Daily limit for how many incoming territory fights one defending side can receive.
  • New config options:

  • war.daily_start_limit.max_started_chunks_per_attacker_side
  • war.daily_start_limit.max_accepted_chunks_per_defender_side

### Changed

  • Updated version to 1.6.3.
  • Expanded metadata for experimental same-jar compatibility beyond the tested 1.21.1 baseline.
  • Updated README and docs for daily war limits and compatibility policy.

### Notes

  • Default attacker limit: 5 chunks per day.
  • Default defender incoming limit: 10 chunks per day.
  • Set a limit to 0 to disable it.
  • Daily reset uses the configured raid-window timezone.

## 1.6.2

Compatibility and usability update focused on Xaero, Aeronautics support, and release polish.

### Added

  • Support for starting wars directly from the Xaero World Map right-click menu.
  • Xaero temporary war waypoints for visible active wars.
  • Aeronautics/Offroad bore protection on claimed territory.
  • Client keybind for opening the claim rules GUI.

### Changed

  • Updated README to better explain installation and optional integrations.
  • Improved Xaero waypoint behavior and cleanup.

### Fixed

  • Improved claim rules GUI opening from the client.
  • Improved safety of optional mod integrations when target mods are not installed.
  • Improved error handling for Xaero map war-start actions.
