OreVein — Vein Mining Mod
Fabric and NeoForge, Minecraft 26.1.2. No extra libraries — drop the jar in mods/. Per-loader jars are available, plus a universal jar that works on either loader.
What it does
Sneak + break a block to mine the whole connected vein (ores, logs, leaves, stone, building blocks). Includes an XP system that unlocks tunnel modes — 1×2, 3×3, 5×5, and Custom Size (pick two corners to define your own shape).
Features
- Vein Mining — sneak + break ores, logs, leaves, stone, building blocks. Releasing sneak cancels the rest of the vein. Water and lava act as boundaries.
- Vein Harvest — sneak + break a fully-grown crop with any hoe to harvest the whole patch and auto-replant.
- Mass Till — sneak + right-click dirt/grass with a Netherite Hoe to till 3×3 (scales with tunnel mode).
- Tunnel Mining — Netherite Pickaxe required for every mode. Unlocks at 500 / 2,000 / 5,000 / 7,500 XP for 1×2 / 3×3 / 5×5 / Custom.
- Custom Size — pick two corners with left-click / right-click while in Select Size mode. The saved 2D plane mines centered on each hit block, anchored 1 block below for player-height tunneling. Persists across sessions.
- Radial Menu — hold Left Alt (rebindable in Controls → Gameplay) to open. Toggle modes, start Custom selection, etc.
- Enchantments — Efficiency speeds vein mining, Fortune / Silk Touch / Unbreaking all apply as vanilla.
XP & death
1 XP per pickaxe block break. Dying wipes your XP and disables tunnel mode. Check progress with /miningxp.
Tool tiers (vein mining)
- Iron+ for gold ore, redstone, packed/blue ice
- Diamond+ for diamond / emerald ore
- Netherite for ancient debris and obsidian

How to Install Orevein (Mod)
Orevein by NoZeroG is verified for Fabric, Neoforge across Minecraft versions 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1-snapshot-2, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3 (latest release: 1.12.0, file size: 1,000 KB). Follow the steps below to install it safely from ModCraft.tv:
- Click the Download button above and select your Minecraft version (1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1-snapshot-2, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3) and platform (Fabric, Neoforge).
- Make sure you have the compatible loader or environment installed for Fabric, Neoforge.
- Move the downloaded Orevein file into your Minecraft
.minecraft/modsfolder and launch the game.
All Versions
+ Add Versionorevein-1.12.0-V26.3-universal.jar (SHA-256 be20f5dd30181e63b1eacb59a6ead02734d99790e3389b45ed477b17dc2df45d)- Shapes.** The Custom page of the radial menu has a Shape entry: left-click browses, right-click applies. Box is the old two-corner selection. Every other shape stands on your feet, faces the wall you look at, and digs in one instant swing. Sneak + scroll sets its size. Gated by the Custom Size XP like before.
- Length shapes, 1 to
maxShapeSize(256) blocks per swing: Hall 1×2, Tunnel 3×3, Tunnel 5×5, Rail (3×3 with a groove for track), Stairs (2 wide), Spiral (3×3 around a solid centre), Branch (1 wide, side stubs everybranchSpacing), Shaft (2×2 straight down in front of you). - Span shapes, 3 to 64 wide: Circle, Cross, Dome (half circle on the floor), Room (that wide and deep; aim up and scroll for the height, 2 to 64).
- Stairs and Spiral climb when you aim more than 10 degrees up, otherwise they descend.
- Shape preview.** Sneaking outlines what the next swing breaks and shows its durability cost (Unbreaking is counted), in red when your tool cannot afford it. Scrolling pins the outline to the block you were looking at until it is dug, you attack, or you walk 3 blocks away.
- Shape wear.** Every two sizes above a shape's minimum add one durability per block, so 9 steps of stairs cost 5 each.
shapeWearStepsets the rate, 0 turns it off. - Quick stack.** Sneak + right-click a chest, barrel or shulker box with a pickaxe to store items in it. Match mode only moves items the container already holds; sneak + scroll up on the container switches to dump all (everything but the item in your hand), scroll down back to match. Double chests count as one. Locked containers refuse like they do in vanilla. The mode is saved per player, and
enableQuickStackturns the feature off. - Continuous tunnels.** Sneak + swing in 1×2, 3×3, 5×5 or Box keeps digging forward while you hold sneak, one slice at a time at the speed of its slowest block. A run stops on release, at
maxContinuousBlocks(256),continuousTunnelRange(24) blocks out, at lava, water, sand or gravel, or when the tool gives out.continuousTunnelsturns it off. Run blocks pay no XP.
### Changed
- Minecraft 26.3.** Built against Fabric API 0.161.0 and NeoForge 26.3.0.6. Older game versions keep the 1.11.x jars.
- Rarity-weighted XP.** Breaking a block with a pickaxe now pays XP by what the block is instead of a flat 1. Stone, cobblestone, deepslate, netherrack, dirt, sand and gravel pay 0.5. Copper, coal and quartz pay 1.5, iron 2, redstone and lapis 4, gold 5, diamond and emerald 10, ancient debris 15. Deepslate ores pay the same as their surface version, and modded ores tagged
#c:orespay 3. Half points carry over to your next block, so two stone still pay 1. An overlay shows the gain whenever it is not 1. EditxpWeightsinconfig/orevein.jsonto change any of it.
### Added
- Allow Tool Break** (Config → General,
allowToolBreak, default off). Vein and tunnel mining keep charging the tool until it breaks, same as mining by hand. Once it breaks, mining stops. - Vanilla Mining Speed** (Config → General,
vanillaMiningSpeed, default on). Each vein block takes as long as it would if you mined it yourself. Wooden pickaxe on iron ore: 2.5 s per block. Netherite: 0.75 s. Efficiency and Haste speed it up like normal. Before this, every block was capped at half a second no matter the tool, so a wooden pickaxe cleared a vein almost as fast as a diamond one. Turn it off to get the old timing back. Tunnel modes still clear the whole slice in one swing.
### Fixed
- My mistake: tools never broke. Vein mining stopped charging a tool once it got near the end of its durability, so a pickaxe could sit at 1 forever. Worse, with Auto-Collect on, the block you hit could still take that last point. Both paths now check the same limit, and Allow Tool Break turns the limit off.
- Blocks with no hardness (grass, torches, flowers) no longer cost durability. Vanilla does not charge for them either.

### Added
- Torch placement.** Right-click with a Netherite Pickaxe or Axe to place a torch on the clicked face, straight from your inventory (consumes one; free in creative). Chests, doors, buttons and other interactable blocks keep their normal right-click; sneak + right-click places a torch on those too. Toggle it off under Config → General → Torch Placement (
enableTorchPlacementinconfig/orevein.json).
### Changed
- Minecraft 26.2.** Full port from 26.1.2: Fabric Loader 0.19.3, Fabric API 0.154.2, NeoForge 26.2.0.10-beta. All features work as before; no config changes needed.
- Custom Size selection outline** now renders through Minecraft 26.2's new gizmo system with a thicker, easier-to-see line. The old render path was removed from the game, so this was rebuilt from scratch; behavior is the same (cyan box on hover, yellow after picking corner A).
/orevein verifyno longer prints a stale version number in its header.
## [1.10.0] - 2026-06-26 (Minecraft 26.1.2)
### Added
- In-game config screen.** Open the radial menu (hold Left Alt) and click the center **Config** circle. Three tabs — General, Tunnel, Lists — with instant-apply ON/OFF toggles, number fields (Enter to commit, out-of-range values clamp with a notice), a per-row reset button that lights up when a value differs from its default, hover descriptions, and full whitelist/blacklist/tag editing without typing commands. Settings are server-authoritative: everyone can view them and flip their own per-player toggles (Vein Mining, Auto-Collect), but changing server settings requires OP — non-OPs see read-only grayed controls. Edits save to
config/orevein.jsonand broadcast live to every online player, including changes made via/oreveincommands or/orevein reload.
### Fixed
- Auto-Collect did nothing unless Vein Mining or a tunnel mode was active.** With both off, breaking a block normally dropped the items on the ground even though Auto-Collect was on. Plain single-block breaks with a pickaxe now route drops to your inventory too. Blocks with stored contents (chests, furnaces, and other block entities) are skipped so nothing is lost.
### Experimental
- Hard Mode (disabled by default, not finished, leave it off).** An opt-in "hostile world" difficulty layer: tougher mobs (scaled max health), harder mob hits on players, villagers and iron golems, vampire bats that bite in caves, a baby-zombie spawn boost, optional bigger creeper craters, and bonus mining XP as the payoff. All server-side, with its own Hard Mode

### Added
- Universal jar.** One jar that runs on both Fabric and NeoForge —
orevein-1.9.6-V26.1.2-universal.jarcarries both loaders' metadata in a single file. The per-loader jars are still published; pick whichever you prefer. - Tool-aware radial menu.** The menu now reflects what the held tool can actually do. Shovel/axe/hoe or empty hand: tunnel slots are hidden entirely (only Vein Mining and Auto-Collect show). Non-netherite pickaxe: tunnel slots grayed out with "Requires Netherite Pickaxe". Netherite pickaxe: full coloring and normal XP gating. Breaking blocks with a non-pickaxe while a tunnel mode is active no longer spams the warning — vein mining silently takes over instead.
### Fixed
- Vein mining stopped working after leaving a world (singleplayer).** The internal task scheduler was created once per game session and shut down for good when a server stopped, so opening a second world in the same client session threw
RejectedExecutionExceptionon the first sneak-break. The scheduler is now recreated on demand after a world exit. - Rare data corruption risk during auto-save.** The 10-second auto-save copied player data into the world's save storage from a background thread while Minecraft could be serialising the same maps on the server thread. The copy now runs on the server thread, eliminating the race.
defaultItemTeleportconfig option had no effect.** Players who never toggled Auto-Collect always defaulted to OFF regardless of the config value.maxCustomSizevalues above 9 were silently ignored.** A hardcoded cap re-clamped every Custom Size dimension to 9 even when the config allowed more.- Mod description advertised a feature that doesn't exist.** The Fabric metadata still claimed "Extra inventory row unlocks at 10000 XP" . A leftover from an old plan that never release. Removed until i fixed or atleat learn how to add extra envetory
THere is a chance that left over experimental code causes issues that i missed, some bugs may persist that i didnt catch.
### Changed
- Internal cleanup.** Deduplicated command, networking, and client code shared between the two loaders (about 270 lines removed) and quieted per-player/per-sync log lines to debug level. No gameplay changes.
Issue first, i may have forgot to fix something but i dont remember what.... Expect bugs.

### Fixed
- Custom Size only mined a 1-block-thick plane.** Selected depth was ignored, producing a stair pattern as you stepped into the wall. Now mines the full depth in one swing.
- Custom Size mined into the floor below the player.** Height was symmetric around the hit block, so head-level hits dug below your feet. Now anchors 1 block below the hit block, rest goes upward (matches 3×3/5×5).
- Custom Size width collapsed on E/W walls.** Stored sizes were world-axis-aligned, so a 7-wide N/S selection became 1-wide on an E/W wall. Wall-parallel width is now the larger of dx/dz on every wall.
- Corner-A click mined the block on NeoForge.**
PlayerInteractEvent.LeftClickBlockcancellation doesn't stop block breaking on NeoForge. Block breaks are now absorbed server-side during custom selection. - Tunnel mode restriction message not showing.** The "requires Netherite Pickaxe" warning previously only fired when toggling a mode on without one in hand — easy to miss. It now fires on every block break while a tunnel mode is active and a non-netherite pick is held, so players get immediate feedback at the point of use.
- Radial menu showed no feedback when clicking a locked tunnel mode.** Clicking 1×2, 3×3, or 5×5 before reaching the XP threshold silently did nothing. Each locked slot now shows
§c[OreVein] Nx×N Tunnel requires X XP (have Y)on the action bar — matching the behavior Custom Size already had. - Tunnel mode icons implied a tool-tier progression.** The radial menu used an Iron Pickaxe icon for 1×2 and a Golden Pickaxe for 3×3, suggesting lower-tier tools would work for those modes. All three tunnel slots now use the Netherite Pickaxe icon, matching the actual requirement.
- "Open OreVein menu" keybind was non-functional.** The keybind appeared in Controls but rebinding it had no effect — the client was polling GLFW directly for Left/Right Alt regardless. The tick loop now reads
openMenuKey.isDown()so the bound key is actually respected. Default remains Left Alt; rebind freely in Controls → Gameplay.
### Changed
- Vein Harvest now works with any hoe.** Previously required a Netherite Hoe specifically; any hoe tier now triggers it. Farming is a mid-game activity and the netherite gate was too late.
- Mine-time restriction message includes both requirements.** When tunnel mode is active but the netherite pick check fails, the action bar now reads
§c[OreVein] Nx×N Tunnel requires a Netherite Pickaxe and X XP to use— both conditions stated upfront. - Radial menu center no longer shows XP.** The main-page centre label was
OreVein / XP N; it now just showsOreVein. XP is still visible via the HUD widget and unlock threshold tooltips on each sl

Launchers that inspect nested JiJ metadata could misidentify the mod or fail to satisfy the fabric-api dependency. The bundling is now generated correctly at build time.
