Simple Skin Swapper
Simple Skin Swapper is a client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 and 26.x that lets you switch between your local skin files on the fly, without restarting the game or navigating through external websites. Open a dynamic skin wheel with a keybind, hover over the skin you want, click, and you're done.
Features and Usage
Skin wheel
Hold your keybind (default key is G) to open the overlay, hover over the skin you want, and click to apply it. You can scroll to explore the available wheels. Releasing the keybind without clicking simply closes the wheel and no skin will be changed.
You can reorganize the wheel by dragging the skin out, then dropping it where you want.
Skin library screen
Allows you to add and organize your existing skins. You can open it from the main or pause menu. You can access it quickly by setting up the dedicated keybind as well.
You can:
- Drag and drop skins to organize them in a category
- Drag and drop skins to add them to another category
- Create your own categories and configure them to change the number of wheels they can have, their color, and name
- Quickly add a skin in the mod from a Minecraft account or from an existing file on your computer
Multiplayer and servers
Skin switching also works in multiplayer and has all the other players see your skin change in real time! Three ways to make it work:
- Server side mod: You can add this mod to your Fabric server
- SkinShuffleBridge plugin: SimpleSkinSwapper is compatible with the SkinShuffleBridge plugin allowing it to work with paper servers
- Server side skin update command: If your server has a command to update your skin, you can configure it too
In any case, other players DON'T need to have the mod to see your skin change.
AI Disclosure
This project uses generative AI at several levels (code, docs). What that means, and what it doesn't, is explained in AI_DISCLOSURE.md. Read it to decide whether this mod is for you.

- Skins now live in a mod-managed registry: duplicate textures are stored once as hash-named files, skins are texture+model pairs, and a one-time migration preserves your original files in User Files/

- Cards simplified: the whole card drags to reorder, a click opens the editor, preview rotation lives only in the editor
- Every deletion (skin or category) goes through one unified confirmation popup
- The editor applies names and model switch when it closes, with a live model-switch preview
- Guaranteed layout density: at least 5 tab strip slots (with ghost placeholders) and 5 sectors per wheel; empty wheels stay hidden; empty views show only the "+" card
- New categories start with one wheel slot; new minimum card width setting
- Fixed: equipped skin re-downloads when missing locally, dye icons on 1.21.11, MC 26.3-rc-3 support with updated dependencies
