Enhanced Storage

All your Hypixel SkyBlock storage in one overlay: searchable, highly customizable, and lightning fast.

Enhanced Storage overlay cycling through layouts: default, Dense, Nav Bar on either side, inventory moved to the side, and Edit Mode

Features

Page Caching

Since the mod is client-side only, it can only see the page you currently have open. When you close the storage menu or navigate to a different page, the mod saves a snapshot of the last-seen contents and displays it as a cached page. You cannot pick up items from or move items into cached pages; you have to open them first. However, you can hover over items to see what they are.

Edit Mode

Reordering pages by dragging them, then stacking two pages by dropping one on another page's edge

Edit Mode lets you organize the overlay however you like. To enter Edit Mode, click the button with the wrench icon beside the inventory.

While in Edit Mode, you have the following options:

  • Rename Pages: Click the title of any page and start typing to give the page a custom name for better organization. Names support Minecraft formatting codes for colors and styles; just type & instead of §. For example, &cWeapons shows "Weapons" in red, and &l makes text bold.
    • Press Enter or click outside the title to save, press Escape to cancel, and clear the name to reset it.
  • Reorder Pages: Click and drag any page to reorder it. Dropping on the left half of a page puts it before that page, and the right half puts it after.
  • Custom Page Widths: Right-click any page and choose how wide it should be, from 2 to 18 slots.
  • Stacked Pages: Drag a page onto the top or bottom edge of another page, and they'll stack together in one column. The pages around a stack treat it as a single page, so you can, for example, place one tall page beside two wide pages stacked on top of each other. Pages in a stack always share the same width, and you can still drag each page on its own. To take a page out of a stack, drag it somewhere else, or right-click it and choose Remove from Stack.
  • Spacers: Spacers are empty, invisible pages that you can place between existing pages. To add a spacer, right-click any page. You'll see an option to add a spacer before or after it. Once you've added a spacer, you can change its width or tell it to use the rest of the row. For example, if you add a spacer after page 1 and make it use the rest of the row, no more pages will appear in that row.
  • Sections: Hover your mouse between two rows of pages, and the text "Add new section here" will appear. Click it to create a section. Once you have created a section, you can drag pages into it. Sections are perfect for grouping pages by activity, such as keeping all your farming-related stuff in one section and mining stuff in another. Sections can also be collapsed to hide pages and save space if you don't need to see their contents often, such as when you have a few pages with investments.
  • Undo and Redo: Press Ctrl + Z to undo your last change and Ctrl + Y (or Ctrl + Shift + Z) to redo it. This works for moving, stacking, renaming, page widths, spacers and sections. After you reset or import a layout, an Undo button appears in the Edit Mode panel so you can get your old layout back with one click.
  • Share Your Layout: Click the Share button in Edit Mode and choose Copy Layout to copy your layout to the clipboard as text. Send it to a friend, or save it somewhere safe as a backup, for example when you move to a new computer. To use a layout, copy the whole text, click Share, and choose Paste Layout. You can choose what to bring over: the page arrangement, page widths, and page names. Pages the other player doesn't have are skipped, and pages that aren't in the shared layout keep their usual spot.

Nav Bar / Storage Overview

Beside the inventory, there is a Storage Overview widget. There, you can see all the Ender Chest and backpack slots, as you do when you first open storage in vanilla. When the Storage Overview title is gold, it is the menu you currently have open, so you can interact with its slots directly. Click any of the items to open that page, or right-click them to pick up backpacks or place new backpacks into your storage. (The Storage Overview widget can be disabled.)

Enhanced Storage overlay showing Hypixel SkyBlock storage pages grouped into Combat, Mining and Farming sections with colored custom names, a Nav Bar listing every page on the right, and the inventory moved beside the pages.

You can optionally enable a Nav Bar that adds a widget to the left or right of the storage overlay, listing all your pages in order. From there, you can click the page you want to open. Used together with custom names, this can greatly increase navigation speed.

Inventory

The inventory can be moved to the left or right of the storage overlay to give the pages more room, letting you see even more pages and items at once. It works great with the Nav Bar when the Storage Overview is disabled.

Search

Typing a search query and the overlay filtering down to only the pages with matching items

At the top of the inventory, you will see a search bar. Type into it to find items quickly. You can also use /ecs <query> to open the storage overlay with a search already filled in.

When searching, pages without matches are hidden by default. In the settings, you can switch to Dim mode instead, which keeps every page in place and dims the items that don't match.

More search options:

  • Search Bar Autofocus: Start typing while the overlay is open without having to click the search bar first.
  • Search Page and Section Names: Find pages and sections by their custom names.
  • Search-fill keybind: Fills the search bar with the name of the item under your cursor. It has no default key, so set one in Controls.
  • Colors: The search highlight color and opacity can be changed.

Highlight Matching Items

Holding Left Alt over a pickaxe highlights every copy across the pages, with a 35× total next to the cursor

While you hold Left Alt (you can change the key in Controls), all items of the same type are highlighted. When an item is highlighted, a small tooltip shows how many of that item you have, and pages without a match are hidden. Both options can be turned off. Together, these features let you quickly see how many of an item you have and which pages it is on.

In the settings, you can also choose to always highlight matching items when you hover over one, without holding the key, and change the highlight color and opacity.

Keyboard Navigation

While the overlay is open, you can quickly change the open page using the arrow keys. Up opens the page above the active page, and down opens the page below it. Left and right open the pages to the left and right. You can also enable an option to navigate with WASD.

You can also press Shift + 1–9 to quickly open one of the first nine pages.

Compact Layout

Fit more on the screen:

  • Compact Name makes the page a bit shorter and shows the name in the smallest space needed. The name will overlap the edge of the page. You can also turn off the name entirely.
  • Slot Size can be set to Compact, which reduces the slot size from 18px to 16px. You can see more items at once, but the items will overlap the slot edges.
  • Layout Density lets you quickly change how much padding the menu uses around its items. You can choose Normal, Compact, or Dense. Normal is the default. Compact moves everything closer together, while Dense moves everything even closer and uses less padding, so more pages are visible at once. A Custom option lets you fine-tune all the values yourself.

Other

  • By default, a small number appears in the top right of each page to show how many slots are free. You can turn this off. When a page is full, the word "Full" appears in red, so it's easy to see which pages are full.
  • Overlay GUI Scale: A separate GUI scale for the overlay. 0 follows your normal GUI scale. It also scales other mods drawing on the same screen.
  • Invert Scroll Direction for the pages and the Nav Bar.
  • Hide Enchant Glint on Cached Pages.
  • Center the whole overlay, rather than just the storage part. This is useful when the inventory is on the side.

Performance

Enhanced Storage was heavily optimized for maximum FPS in version 2.0. Normally, when you open a large menu with hundreds of items, the FPS drops significantly. With Enhanced Storage, the FPS stays stable after you open the overlay, so you can expect almost the same FPS in the overlay as when your inventory is open.

Enhanced Storage 1.x vs. 2.0

Overlay open Avg FPS 1% low 0.1% low
Desktop, test instance 282 → 1415 (5.0×) 152 → 370 125 → 329
Desktop, modpack 157 → 468 (3.0×) 82 → 142 61 → 105
Laptop, test instance 238 → 580 (2.4×) 130 → 164 118 → 125
Laptop, modpack 72 → 128 (1.8×) 45 → 68 35 → 50

Desktop: Ryzen 7 5700X3D, RX 9070 XT. Laptop: Ryzen 7 8840HS, Radeon 780M. Tested on Hypixel SkyBlock while looking at the void. Test instance: Sodium, ImmediatelyFast and Gnetum. Modpack: Skyblock Enhanced v5.2.3.

Two settings help with this. Enchant Glint Refresh Rate (default: 30 FPS) updates the enchant shimmer less often for a big FPS gain; set it to Smooth for the old behavior. Cache Page Rendering (default: on) draws unchanged pages once and reuses them. Turn it off if a page looks out of date or broken.

Compatibility

The mod should work with most, if not all, other mods. If you find an issue, please let me know.

Compatibility has been added for Skyblocker's Quick Nav (the storage overlay resizes to fit the Quick Nav buttons) and for RRV.

Installation

To use Enhanced Storage, you need the Fabric Loader, Fabric API, UI Lib, and a supported version of Minecraft. You can see the supported versions on the versions page.

After installing Fabric, place Fabric API, UI Lib, and the latest version of Enhanced Storage in your mods folder.

If you want a complete modpack for Hypixel SkyBlock, you can use my SkyBlock Enhanced modpack. It includes this mod and many other SkyBlock mods, giving you everything you may need in one download.

FAQ

Is this allowed on Hypixel?

Enhanced Storage is client-side and only changes how the storage menu is displayed, using data the server already sent. It doesn’t automate anything or give an unfair advantage. As with any mod, use it at your own discretion.

How do I open the settings?

Use /es config.

## Update 2.0.0

### New Features and Improvements

#### Edit Mode
Edit Mode lets you make the storage overlay your own. Open it with the new **Edit** button beside your inventory (you can hide the button in the settings). From there, you can:
  • Rename pages:** Click a page's title and type a new name. Press Enter or click outside the title to save, or press Escape to cancel. Clearing the name restores the default name.
  • Page and section names can be colored with & color codes, like Minecraft's chat codes. For example, &cWeapons shows "Weapons" in red and &l makes text bold. You can find all the color codes here: https://minecraft.wiki/w/Formatting_codes.
  • Reorder pages:** Click and drag any page to move it. Dropping on the left half of a page puts it before that page, and the right half puts it after.
  • Create sections:** Click anywhere between two rows of pages to show the new **Add Section** text. Click it to create a section. You can group related pages in sections and hide them when you don't need them.
  • You can give sections custom names and expand or collapse them. This is useful for pages you don't always need to access quickly. A collapsed section appears as a single bar showing its name and the total number of free slots on its pages.
  • New settings:
  • Custom Page Width:** Set how many slots wide pages are by default. Instead of the default 9 slots, you can choose any number from 2 to 18. You can also change the width of individual pages in Edit Mode.
  • Hide Item Tooltips in Edit Mode** stops tooltips from covering pages while you arrange them.
  • Collapse Sections While Dragging** shows every section as a collapsed bar while you move a section.
  • Undo and redo:** Press Ctrl+Z to undo your last change in Edit Mode, and Ctrl+Y (or Ctrl+Shift+Z) to redo it. This works for moving, stacking, renaming, page widths, spaces and sections.
  • After you reset or import a layout, the Edit Mode panel shows an **Undo** button so you can get your old layout back with one click.
  • Share your layout:** Click the new **Share** button in Edit Mode and choose **Copy Layout**. Your layout is put in your clipboard as text you can send to a friend or a safe place for later use. Example when you move to a new computer.
  • To use a layout, copy the whole text, then click **Share** and choose **Paste Layout**. You can pick what to bring over: the page arrangement, page widths, and page names.
  • You can also use /es layout export and /es layout import (add rift for Rift Storage).
  • Pages the other player doesn't have are skipped, and pages that aren't in the shared layout keep their usual spot.

#### Custom Page Layouts
A new page layout system gives you more control over how your pages are arranged.
  • Custom page widths:** Each page can be 2 to 18 slots wide. Right-click a page and choose **Page Width...** to set its width.
  • Spaces:** Right-click a page and choose **Add Space Before** or **Add Space After** to leave empty room between pages. Right-click a space to change its width, or choose **Fill Row** to use up the rest of the row, so the next page starts on a new row. Choose **Fixed Width** to go back, or **Remove Space** to delete it.
  • Stacked pages:** Drag a page onto the top or bottom edge of another page to stack them. The edges light up faintly while you drag. Pages in a stack always share one width. Right-click a stacked page and choose **Remove from Stack** to take it out. This is useful if you want one tall, thin page beside two wide, short pages.
  • The overlay's width now adapts to your pages:**
  • Max pages per row** is now measured in pages that are 9 slots wide, so more narrow pages can fit in a row. For example, if you set the maximum to 3, you can fit 6 pages in a row if they are all 4 slots wide. Each page in the setting allows 9 slots of overlay width, and the number of pages that fit depends on their widths.
  • The overlay shrinks to fit when there are only a few pages, but it won't grow wider than the screen.

#### Navigation Panel
A new panel on the side of the overlay makes it easier to navigate your pages and sections. The panel:
  • Lists all your pages, grouped by section. Click a page to open it, or click a section to scroll to it.
  • Can be placed on the left or right of the overlay, or turned off in the settings. (This feature is by default off and needs to be enabled in settings.)

#### Highlight Matching Items
  • Hold Left Alt while hovering over an item to highlight every stack of that item across all pages and your inventory.
  • You can change the key in the controls. In the settings, you can also choose to always highlight matching items when you hover over one.
  • A new **Hide Pages Without Copies** setting (on by default) has been added. When it's on, holding the highlight key shows only pages containing the item you're hovering over. This gives you a quick view of how many of that item you have and which pages contain it.
  • A new **Show Item Totals** setting (on by default) shows how many of the highlighted item you have across your pages and inventory, like 46×. It appears as a small tooltip next to your cursor.

#### Search Improvements
  • New **Dim** search mode. Instead of hiding pages without matching items, it keeps every page in place and dims items that don't match.
  • The old **Hide** mode is still available and remains the default. You can switch to Dim mode in the settings.
  • A new **Search Page and Section Names** setting has been added. When it's on, you can search for pages and sections by their custom names.
  • A new keybind fills the search bar with the name of the item under your mouse cursor. It has no key set by default, but you can set one in the vanilla Controls settings.
  • New **Search Bar Autofocus** setting. When it's on, you can start typing anywhere to search, without clicking the search bar first. While your mouse is over an item, keys work as usual, so you can still swap items with 1–9 or drop them with Q.
  • New color and opacity settings for the search highlight and for **Highlight Matching Items**, so you can pick colors that are easier for you to see.

#### Smaller Improvements
  • Added an **Invert Scroll Direction** setting for the pages and the navigation panel.
  • Added a **Hide Enchant Glint on Cached Pages** setting that removes the enchant shimmer from items on pages that aren't open.
  • Added keyboard navigation. Use the arrow keys to move to the page above, below, left, or right of the current one. Use Shift + 1–9 to open one of the first nine pages.
  • Turn on **WASD Page Navigation** to use W, A, S and D the same way as the arrow keys.
  • Each page now shows its number of free slots in the top right corner of its title bar. You can turn this off in the settings.
  • Added the ability to move the Inventory to the left or right of the overlay.
  • This also comes with the new config option to center the whole overlay on the screen instead of just the storage part. Useful when the inventory is on the side, so the overlay utilizes the whole screen better.
  • Added a new setting to make page titles compact or hide them. When set to compact, the title bar is only tall enough to show the title. When hidden, the title bar is gone.
  • Added a new setting to quickly change how compact the overlay is. The new **Layout Density** setting has four options: **Custom**, **Normal**, **Compact**, and **Dense**. It changes the spacing between pages and setting it to compact or dense can let you see more pages at once. Custom lets you use the existing sliders to fine-tune the values your self.
  • Added a **Slot Size** setting. **Compact** uses smaller slots with no gap between items, so pages take up less space and more of them fit on screen. The Storage Overview and your inventory keep normal slots. The **Dense** layout uses compact slots, and you can change the setting afterwards.
  • Added a **Room for Other Mods** setting. When set to **Automatic** (the default), the overlay leaves just enough space for Skyblocker's Quick Nav tabs, RRV's search bar and SkyRecipes' category buttons — only for the ones you have turned on — so the overlay can use more of your screen. **Manual** lets you set the space yourself, like before.
  • Skyblocker's Quick Nav tabs now line up with your storage pages and inventory instead of the middle of the screen.
  • Added an **Open Storage** key that opens your storage on SkyBlock. It has no key set by default, but you can set one in the vanilla Controls settings.
  • If you use OneConfig, you can now turn Enhanced Storage on or off from OneConfig's mod list.

#### Performance
  • Storage Overlay is now up to 5× faster**, especially with a large window and many pages on screen.

| Overlay open | Avg FPS | 1% low | 0.1% low |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Desktop**, test instance | 282 → **1415** (5.0×) | 152 → **370** | 125 → **329** |
| **Desktop**, modpack | 157 → **468** (3.0×) | 82 → **142** | 61 → **105** |
| **Laptop**, test instance | 238 → **580** (2.4×) | 130 → **164** | 118 → **125** |
| **Laptop**, modpack | 72 → **128** (1.8×) | 45 → **68** | 35 → **50** |

Desktop: Ryzen 7 5700X3D, RX 9070 XT. Laptop: Ryzen 7 8840HS, Radeon 780M. Tested on Hypixel SkyBlock while looking at the void. Test instance: Sodium, ImmediatelyFast and Gnetum. Modpack: Skyblock Enhanced v5.2.3.

  • New settings**
  • Enchant Glint Refresh Rate** (default: 30 FPS): Updates the enchant shimmer less often while the overlay is open, on every page and in your inventory. The shimmer looks slightly less smooth, but you get a lot more FPS. Set it to **Smooth** for the old behavior.
  • Cache Page Rendering** (default: on): Pages that aren't changing are drawn once and reused instead of being redrawn every frame. Turn it off if a page looks out of date or another mod's item overlays stop updating.

### Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that stopped the storage cache from being saved between game restarts for some players.
  • Hypixel doesn't automatically send your profile ID when you have only one SkyBlock profile. The mod now requests it with /profileid after you join SkyBlock, so the cache can be saved correctly.
  • Fixed items in an open storage page briefly appearing in the top row of the overlay before moving to the correct page.
  • Fixed a brief flash that sometimes appeared when switching between storage pages.
  • Fixed items in RRV's item list being invisible while the storage overlay is open with RRV's Recipe Book theme.
  • Fixed the storage overlay being too big and in the wrong place when the Better Screens mod's container scale is on. The overlay and Edit Mode now use Better Screens' container scale, and the Overlay GUI Scale setting applies only while that's turned off.

### Other Changes
  • Added support for Minecraft 26.3.

  • Fixed all items and the tooltip turning invisible when hovering a slot in the storage overlay with Smooth Hover installed.
## Update 1.1.0

  • Added an "Overlay GUI Scale" setting, letting the storage overlay use its own GUI scale without changing the rest of the game. Leave it at 0 to keep following your normal GUI scale. A scale too large for your window is reduced to the biggest that still fits.
  • When set to anything other than 0, this changes the GUI scale Minecraft itself uses while the overlay is open. That means other mods drawing onto the same screen are scaled with it.
  • Fixed the search bar dropping characters when typing fast.

## Update 1.0.0-beta.1

  • Full rewrite of the codebase to improve reliability and maintainability.
  • Added new features including the option to edit the title of any page and the position the page will appear in. So you can move page 1 to be the 5th page in the list instead of it being the first, or change its title from Ender Chest 1 to Weapons. To do so just Right Click the page.
  • Added new buttons to the menu on the right side of the inventory to allow for quick access to the settings menu and to change the theme of the menu. (These can be disabled in the settings menu if you don't want them there.)
  • Some other minor bug fixes and improvements to the user interface.
## Update 0.8.2

  • Fixed the item list from RRV rendering over the overlay after you open a page.
