Splatcraft
Splatcraft is a Minecraft mod based on Nintendo’s popular game Splatoon. This mod aims to add items and mechanics based on the game in a cohesive way, such as weapons, squid transformation, Turf War, and other features.

Features
Pressing the 'Z' key will grant you access to the Squid Transformation, it allows you to fit under smaller gaps, go through Iron Bars, and swim faster underwater. However, it makes you noticeably slower on land.
Equipping an Ink Tank in your chestplate slot allows you to gradually fill it up with Ink, which can then be used as ammo for all of the Ink Weapons added by the mod. These will cover mobs with a cosmetic coating of Ink matching your Ink Color, damage players with different Ink Colors from yours, as well as cover most blocks with Ink. Inked Blocks can serve a wide variety of functionality: while in your Squid Form, you can submerge into them as long as they match your Ink Color, allowing you to move faster, jump farther, passively regenerate health, and become undetectable to other players and mobs; you can also swim up walls of Inked Blocks. Standing on ink of an opposing color, on the other hand, will drastically slow you down and make you take constant damage, it will never be enough to kill you, but you still have to be careful around it!
To obtain most of the items provided by the mod you will have to dive deep into oceans to find Sardinium Deposits, large rock formations containing ore that can be smelted down into Sardimium. During your journey, you may also encounter Scraps and Crates that will be useful for creating weapons. Crates specifically can be inked to uncover their contents, which can include large quantities of Power Eggs, blueprints used to unlock weapons, and some exclusive items that can be used cosmetically.
There's a total of 35 Unique Weapons, 27 Weapon Variants, and 4 Ink Tanks added by the mod. the currently available weapon classes are Shooters, Blasters, Rollers, Brushes, Chargers, Dualies, Sloshers, Splatlings, and Sub Weapons.
On top of all the items, the mod adds a variety of Blocks that can be used for Map Making and Redstone Contraptions, as well as to better utilize the mechanics that have been implemented.
Inkwells can be used to change the player's Ink Color, this can be done by placing one down and standing on top of it while in Squid Form. They can be crafted at an Ink Vat by combining Power Eggs, Ink Sacs, and an Empty Inkwell (obtained through crafting, stonecutting glass, or from Sunken Crates). Filters can be used at an Ink Vat to widen the selection of colors at your disposal.
On top of everything else, the mod also adds a wide variety of tools that greatly facilitate Map Making and Gamemode Creation, allowing players to replicate the type of experience that can be found within Splatoon as well as expand upon them by combing them with Minecraft's unlimited potential.
FAQ
Where can I report bugs?
Make a bug report on our bug tracker: Fabric, Forge; or for a minor issue join our Discord.
Will you backport to X version?
Backporting takes a lot of time and effort to develop, especially without the newer features added by later versions of Minecraft that the mod heavily depends on. So, unfortunately, no.
Will you update to X version?
Since updating to a newer version of Minecraft means that the current one will become deprecated, as well as taking some time to develop, we tend to wait for a few updates until the community feels comfortable with moving into the next version of the game

All Versions
+ Add Version- Version 4.0.1**
Technical Changes:
- Added
HideTooltiptag for Weapons and Ink Tanks, hiding Weapon Settings and Ink Capacity respectively - Color Locked Ink Tanks now show what color they’re locked to in their tooltip
- Splatcraft HUD elements no longer render when you’re in spectator mode
- Releasing right-click when in squid form now resets stored charge for weapons that support it (certain Chargers and Splatlings)
Bug Fixes
- Greatly increased performance when loading in chunks, this was caused due to World Ink data causing chunks to be populated prematurely
- Fixed Dualies, Sloshers, and Splatlings not setting their decayed projectile stats correctly
- Fixed Dualies not applying Pitch Compensation and Turret Mode Air Inaccuracy settings correctly
- Fixed ink-colored blocks flashing black when first placed
- Fixed ink color tint for the Nautilus 47 and Nautilus 79
- Colliding with a Spawn Pad shield of an opposing color now kicks players out of any vehicles they may be riding
- Spawn Pad shields no longer make Stage Barriers visible
- Fixed certain clientside mods not rendering player models with the right ink color under special circumstances. (most noticeable with Essential’s player render in the pause menu)
- Fixed Splatling root advancement not unlocking when Horseshoe Apprentice is obtained
- Fixed Non-Single Use Sub Weapons playing the Sub Detonating sound event when dropped from a dispenser
- Splatcraft Version 4.0: Back To BasInks**
Known Issues:
- Splatcraft is currently incompatible with OptiFine and Embeddium, causing blocks to not render as inked when either of these two is present. A fix should hopefully be ready before the next major update. But in the meantime, I recommend using Rubidium for performance boosts and shaders, as the mod has been proven to be compatible with it.
- Grates placed in older versions will all appear as their bottom-half variant. This should be a one-time issue and should not persist as long as the mod isn't downgraded.
New Features:
- Added Splatlings: A heavy class of Main Weapon that can be charged up to fire a volley of ink projectiles, some can even store their charge when entering squid form!
- Completely overhauled the mod's survival experience! Sardinium will no longer spawn in veins underground, but will instead be obtained from Sardinium Deposits: large rocks that can be found occasionally within ocean biomes, these rocks are composed of Sardinium Ore and Coralite.
- Players with the Water Breathing effect no longer take water damage when the doWaterDamage rule is enabled
- Power Eggs will no longer be obtained from fishing and underwater chests, but will now be found inside of crates scattered around the ocean floor. These crates can be picked up and taken to the surface to break them open with ink. As a result, the Ammo Knights Workbench, Ink Tank Jr., and Splattershot Jr. will no longer cost Power Eggs to make.
- Alongside groups of crates a new mysterious artifact can be found, it can be broken to obtain Ammo Knights Scraps: a new material crucial in the creation of machines and tools that are important to the mod.
- Added Coralite: A new stone-like block that can be stained by dropping it over an inkwell to change its color, it can be used to make stairs and slabs which can also be inked.
- Added Blueprints: a new item that can be found inside of Sunken Crates, it allows you to unlock recipes for the Weapon Workbench. You can find out what weapons you already have unlocked by looking at the "Splatcraft Blueprints" tab in the Advancements menu, unlocked after picking up your first blueprint.
- Added an entire Advancement tree for the mod. It should help guide new players to understand the mod's progression and how its survival systems work.
- Updated the recipe for the Ammo Knights Weapon Workbench, Ink Vat, Turf Scanner, Ink Disruptor, Color Transmuter, Spawn Pad, and Remote Pedestal.
- Reworked the way blocks are inked: instead of replacing the affected block, ink will now be stored inside of chunk data separate from the block grid, modifying the block's rendering directly to appear as if it were inked. For those that don't understand what this means, it lets ink and inked blocks do a handful of things they couldn't do before, such as:
- Making most block entities inkable by default
- Retaining all of the affected block's properties, including block states, right-click functional

+ Replaced Ink Squids and the Squid Transformation with a more appealing model
+ Renamed and remodeled every single item, block, entity, GUI, and weapon that is present in the mod to fit more its vision going forward. I am sorry @JustHatless that's just how it is. :(
+ Removed every localization except for English (United States). Not that there was a problem with the other ones, I'm just too lazy to update them all and we have deadlines to meet.
+ Skabingle Land's been added in there somewhere. Where exactly? Idk, try to find it yourself.
+ Sounds have been integrated into the mod! No need for using those pesky Resource Packs with sounds ripped from Splatoon.
- Removed Herobrine
``Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue that made the Explosher do too much damage.
- Fixed an issue that made Dualie Squelchers do too little damage.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Squid Transformation's hitbox to not work as intended.
- Fixed an issue that allowed grimblies to leak into the jomb. Don't ask me what it is, just know that it's fixed.
- Fixed an issue that prevented issues from being fixed, all issues should be fixed now.
Certain issues were fixed:
- Fixed an issue that caused players to be unable to join multiplayer servers
- Fixed an issue that caused Mixin errors to appear in the dedicated server console
New Features:
- Added Spawn Pads: A new piece of stage-building equipment that allows players to set their spawn on top of it by swimming on it. Spawn Pads come with a protective shield around them that knocks back any entities not matching its color, as well as fizzling out any Ink Projectiles or Sub Weapons that come in contact with it.
- Curling Bombs! A brand new sub weapon that slides forward for a short period of time before detonating, inking the ground below it on it's way. Their distance can be shortened and explosion radius increased by "cooking" the bomb before throwing it, you can do so by holding your sub key (or right-click if you're already holding the item), notice the LEDs at the top, their color indicates for how long the bomb's been cooked for!
- Added /stage: this versatile new command will have gamemode developers all around the block in awe! It allows you to define and manage any region you turn into a Stage (by using /stage add) in a variety of ways:
- /stage settings allows you to locally change a small selection of gamerules within the stage's boundaries, such as preventing ink from decaying, making water hurt you, and allowing players to use weapons without an ink tank, among many others!
- /stage teams lets you tag colored blocks in the area with a specific team, allowing you to then use /replacecolor without worrying about two colors overlapping and screwing over your stage
- /stage warp teleports all targeted players into an available Spawn Pad inside the stage itself! the Spawn Pad needs to first match the player's color in order to teleport them to it. You can even take it a step further and tell the command to set the players' spawn point to their assigned pads!
- Added 2 new game rules: inkableGround and rechargeableInkTank: disabling them lets you prevent players from creating inked blocks and recharging their ink respectively
- Chargers now play a "ding" sound upon landing a direct hit
- Updated credits in the in-game mod list
- Added Italian and Simplified Chinese translation
- Updated Spanish translation
New Weapons:
- Classic Squiffer
- Dynamo Roller
New features related to weapon balance were added:
- Damage decay was added in this release. This means that projectiles will slowly lose damage based on their time in the air

- Ink recovery rate was increased from 20%/s to 33%/s
