### Added
- **Chiseled Temporal Stone Bricks**: a new building block with a spiral
pattern, crafted from two Temporal Stone Brick Slabs or cut from Temporal
Stone or Temporal Stone Bricks on a stonecutter.
- **Clockwork Cookie sources**: Watchmaker's Camp chests can now contain
Clockwork Cookies, and the Time Keeper sells 4 of them for 8 Clockstone.
In existing worlds, this applies to chests that have not been opened yet and
to Time Keepers you have not traded with yet.
- **Inland water life**: Temporal Seagrass now grows in rivers, lakes, and
ponds of every Chrono Dawn land biome, not only the ocean and swamp. Glide
Fish and Chrono Turtles now spawn in any open-sky or ice-covered water at
least two blocks deep, including water above sea level and at any depth in
the ocean, and the desert, faded plains, mountain, and snowy biomes gained
water spawns of their own (Glide Fish only in the snowy biome). Glide Fish
now count as water ambient mobs like vanilla fish instead of water creatures,
so they no longer share the small water creature cap with Chrono Turtles.
Only newly generated chunks get the new seagrass.
- **Clockstone armor set bonuses**: wearing a full set of Clockstone Armor
makes Slowness last 25% shorter, and a full set of Enhanced Clockstone Armor
makes Slowness, Weakness, and Mining Fatigue last 50% shorter. Both stack
with the Chrono Dawn shields, and each armor piece shows its set bonus in
the tooltip.
- **Mobs and items through portals**: once stabilized, a Chrono Dawn portal
sends mobs and dropped items through like a Nether portal. Mobs and items
cannot use the one-way entry portal, so they cannot consume it before you
enter Chrono Dawn.
### Changed
- **Structure materials**: the Desert Clock Tower, Master Clock, Clockwork
Depths Engine Room, and Phantom Catacombs entrance use Chiseled Temporal
Stone Bricks in place of vanilla chiseled stone bricks. Only newly generated
structures are affected.
- **Clockwork Cookie**: the recipe now uses 1 Clockwork Block instead of 2, and
the block is a mold that stays in the crafting grid. The recipe also shows up
in the recipe book once you pick up Time Jam, a Clockwork Block, or a cookie.
Each cookie now adds 30 seconds of Resistance I to the time left, up to
3 minutes, instead of giving 30 seconds of Resistance I and Fire Resistance.
- **Spatially Linked Pickaxe recipe**: on Minecraft 1.21.1 and later, the
pickaxe is now upgraded from a Diamond Pickaxe with 3 Enhanced Clockstone and
3 Time Crystals, the same recipe 1.20.1 already used. It previously shared
its exact recipe with the Enhanced Clockstone Pickaxe, so the crafting grid
could give you either one. The recipe book now shows it once you pick up a
Time Crystal, as on 1.20.1.
- **Time Distortion rebalance**: the ambient effect in Chrono Dawn now follows
the day/night cycle speed. Mobs are slowed more when time runs slowly and
less when it speeds up. When time races, mobs get Speed I instead, and a
distant bell warns players in the dimension. The default Normal level is
Slowness III (IV after the Eye of Chronos), down from IV (V). New config
keys: `link_to_time_flow`, `slow_below`, `fast_above`, `very_fast_above`,
and `very_fast_speed_level`.
Existing `chronodawn.toml` files keep their written levels (4 and 5). Set
`normal_slowness_level = 3` and `enhanced_slowness_level = 4` to adopt the
new balance. Existing worlds also follow the new time-flow bands, including
short Speed I periods. To keep the previous constant effect, set
`link_to_time_flow = false`.
- **Time Distortion resistance**: Temporal Wraith, Timeline Strider, and
Forgotten Minute now resist the distortion (two Slowness levels weaker),
listed in the new `chronodawn:time_distortion_resistant` entity type tag.
Clockwork Sentinel is now in `chronodawn:time_distortion_immune`, and
removing it from that tag makes it affected by Slowness again.
- **Ancient Forest distribution**: Ancient Forests now generate across a wider
range of temperate humidity, making them easier to find. Only newly generated
chunks use the new biome distribution.
- **Upside-Down Trees**: these Ancient Forest features now use Ancient Time Wood
logs, wood, and leaves to match their surroundings. Only newly generated
chunks receive the updated structure.
### Fixed
- **Boss-room block protection**: protected boss-room walls remain protected
after restarting the server until the boss is defeated. The defeated state
also remains after later restarts on every supported Minecraft version.
- **Bone meal on Temporal Grass Blocks**: bone meal now grows biome-appropriate
Chrono Dawn flowers and ground cover on Temporal Grass Blocks across all
supported Minecraft versions and loaders.
- **Time Blossom selection outline**: the outline shown when looking at a Time
Blossom now lines up with the flower, which is drawn slightly off-center in
its block.
- **Timeless Mushrooms popping off**: naturally generated Timeless Mushrooms in
bright spots no longer break and drop when a block next to them changes, for
example when bone meal grows grass beside them. Placing and spreading still
require light level 12 or less.
- **Chrono Cobweb background**: Chrono Cobwebs no longer show a black or gray
background on Forge 1.20.1 and on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 through
1.21.11.
- **Clockstone Armor durability on 1.20.1**: Clockstone Armor on Minecraft
1.20.1 now has the same durability as on later versions (220, 320, 300, and
260 for the helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots) instead of iron armor's
values.
- **Time Wood logs tag**: on Minecraft 1.21.1 and later, stripped Time Wood
logs and all Time Wood and Stripped Time Wood blocks now count as logs
(`minecraft:logs`), as they already did on 1.20.1. Leaves next to them no
longer decay, and recipes or mods that accept any log now accept them.
- **Bosses despawning**: on Minecraft 1.20.1 and on 1.21.2 and later, the
Chronos Warden, Entropy Keeper, and Temporal Phantom no longer despawn when
every player moves away from them.
- **Bosses on 1.20.1**: several boss fixes that later versions already had now
apply to Minecraft 1.20.1 too.
- The Time Guardian, Chronos Warden, and Time Tyrant remember where they
have spawned across server restarts. A defeated boss no longer comes
back after a restart, and reopening a boss room door no longer spawns a
second one.
- Every Desert Clock Tower now gets its own Time Guardian, instead of at
most 3 per world. Finding the tower's boss room no longer causes server
lag spikes.
- The Chronos Warden moves at the same speed as on later versions.
- Chrono Aegis also buffs other players within 32 blocks.
- **Recipe book tabs on 1.20.1 and 1.21.1**: building blocks now appear under
the Building tab, and weapons, armor, and tools under the Equipment tab,
instead of Misc, as they already did on later versions.
- **Time Distortion immune tag on Minecraft 1.21.5 and later**: datapack
changes to `chronodawn:time_distortion_immune` were ignored on these
versions because the boss list was hardcoded. The tag is now honored on
every version.
- **Glide Fish and Chrono Turtles stuck in place**: Glide Fish and Chrono
Turtles now swim around in the water instead of staying in one spot.
- **Time Tyrant and Temporal Caprid heads**: their heads now turn at the neck
when they look up or down, instead of sliding across the shoulders.
- **Crash on Lunar Client**: on Fabric, the game no longer crashes before the
title screen with "Failed to parse chronodawn:chronodawn from pack
chronodawn-runtime-overlay" when a launcher such as Lunar Client loads data
packs outside a world.
