### Added
- **Minecraft 26.3 support**: Chrono Dawn now runs on Minecraft 26.3 with
Fabric (Loader 0.19.5+ and Fabric API 0.161.0+26.3) and NeoForge
(26.3.0.34-beta or newer). NeoForge 26.3 is still a beta build, so expect
loader changes between betas. Both loaders need Architectury API 22.0.2 or
newer. Modpack authors should know two differences on 26.3. Minecraft 26.3
removed the tag-based furnace fuel and the central composter registry, so
Chrono Dawn's own wooden items burn and its plants compost with the same
values as on other versions, but items a pack adds to the vanilla wood tags
no longer get a burn time automatically. KubeJS and CraftTweaker have no
26.3 builds yet, so the scripting bridges are not available there.
- **Configurable Time Keeper Village**: modpacks can now control the one-per-world runtime village through `[world.time_keeper_village]`: enable or disable it, tune its preferred and maximum distance from the first Chrono Dawn entry point, choose how many Time Keepers appear, and replace its structure template and chest loot table with data pack resources. The placement still occurs at runtime, so it is not a `/locate structure` target.
- Chronite Ore, a common Overworld ore that drops Chronite Shards. Craft a Time Compass from a compass, a clock, and Chronite Shards to locate the nearest Ancient Ruins from anywhere in the Overworld. Chronite also crafts Time Arrows, clocks without gold, and Blocks of Chronite. It makes no armour, tools, or weapons. Chronite Ore and its deepslate variant are tagged `c:ores/chronite`, `c:ores`, and `c:ores_in_ground/stone` or `/deepslate`, so packs can target them like the other Chrono Dawn ores. Generation can be tuned or disabled through `[world.ores.chronite]` in `chronodawn.toml`.
- **Time Compass re-search**: sneak and use a Time Compass that already has a locked target to clear that lock and search again, without crafting a new compass. Covers the rare case where Minecraft's structure search locks onto a position that turns out to have no structure there.
- **CraftTweaker scripting bridge** — CraftTweaker packs can now subscribe to
Chrono Dawn's native `BossDefeatedEvent` and `PortalOpenedEvent` from
ZenScript on the supported 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 loader combinations. The
events expose the same stable IDs and server-side context as the Java API,
without a separate addon. See `docs/modpack-integration.md`.
- **Modpack-extensible mob and world behavior tags** — Pulse Hog,
Secondwing Fowl, Timebound Rabbit, and Temporal Caprid taming/breeding
food, Ticking Sheep shears, Chrono Bovine milking buckets, the Time
Distortion boss-immunity list, and the grass/fern seed drop swapped for
Time Wheat Seeds in the Chrono Dawn dimension now read from `chronodawn:`
item and entity_type tags instead of hardcoded Java checks, so a pack
datapack can add compatible items, bosses, or seed drops without replacing
Chrono Dawn's classes. See `docs/modpack-integration.md`.
- **Configurable Chrono Dawn time flow** — the dimension's variable day/night
cycle speed (min/max speed, how long each speed lasts, and an on/off
toggle) is now controlled by `[gameplay.time_flow]` in `chronodawn.toml`
instead of being hardcoded. See `docs/configuration.md`.
- **Modpack-extensible portal ignition** — the item that ignites a Chrono
Dawn portal on a valid Clockstone frame is now gated by the
`chronodawn:portal_igniters` item tag (default: Time Hourglass) instead of
being tied to the Time Hourglass item class, so a pack datapack can add
other ignition items without replacing Chrono Dawn's classes. See
`docs/modpack-integration.md`.
- **Modpack-extensible portal stabilization** — the item that stabilizes a
deactivated Chrono Dawn portal for bidirectional travel is now gated by the
`chronodawn:portal_stabilizers` item tag (default: Portal Stabilizer)
instead of being tied to the Portal Stabilizer item class, so a pack
datapack can add other stabilization items without replacing Chrono Dawn's
classes. See `docs/modpack-integration.md`.
### Fixed
- **Cod and salmon spawn category in Chrono Dawn Ocean**: the
`chronodawn:chronodawn_ocean` biome listed cod and salmon under
`water_creature`, but Minecraft registers both as `water_ambient`. Once
spawned they were counted as `water_ambient`, so the `water_creature` cap
never limited them. They could keep spawning and fill the cap that tropical
fish and pufferfish share. NeoForge also logged a mob category mismatch
warning at startup. They now spawn under `water_ambient`
([#2](https://github.com/ksoichiro/ChronoDawn/issues/2)).
- **Pure-black caves in Chrono Dawn on 26.1.2 and later**: the Chrono Dawn
dimension type had no ambient light color, so Minecraft defaulted it to
pure black. Areas at light level 0 stayed completely dark no matter how
high the gamma or brightness setting was. The dimension now uses the same
`#0a0a0a` ambient light color as the vanilla Overworld. Minecraft 1.21.11
and earlier have no such setting and are unchanged.
- **Portal overlay missing on Forge 1.20.1**: the orange overlay shown while
standing in a Chrono Dawn portal never appeared on Forge, although the
portal particles did. Forge replaces the vanilla in-game GUI class, so the
overlay hook never ran. It now targets the Forge GUI class.
- **Portal Stabilizer in worlds upgraded from 0.8.0**: in a world where a
player entered Chrono Dawn on 0.8.0 and has not stabilized the portal yet,
using the Portal Stabilizer on the arrival frame in Chrono Dawn failed with
"No deactivated portal found nearby". 0.8.0 never registered that arrival
portal, because it matched the Overworld portal at the same coordinates.
The stabilizer now also finds the Overworld portal saved by those older
versions. Portals created after this fix are not affected by this fallback.
- **Missing Chrono Dawn Portal block name** — the `block.chronodawn.chrono_dawn_portal`
translation key had no `en_us`/`ja_jp` value, so mods that display block
names (e.g. Jade) showed the raw key instead of "Chrono Dawn Portal".
- **Time Keeper Village vegetation drops** — placing the runtime Time Keeper Village now clears
vegetation in and immediately around its footprint, including crops and Time Blossoms, without
leaving dropped items behind when the foundation or structure replaces their supporting blocks.
- **Chrono Melon fruit/stem swapped on regrowth** — on 1.21.1+, breaking a
grown Chrono Melon turned the stem next to it into another Chrono Melon
instead of a bare stem, so the plant couldn't regrow. `AttachedChronoMelonStemBlock`
passed its fruit and stem block references to vanilla's
`AttachedStemBlock` constructor in the wrong order (vanilla takes
`(stem, fruit, ...)`, not `(fruit, stem, ...)` — the constructor parameter
order doesn't match the class's own field declaration order).
- **Chrono Melon fruit placement on `parched_temporal_dirt`** — a mature
Chrono Melon Stem can now grow its fruit onto
`chronodawn:parched_temporal_dirt`, the one Chrono Dawn dirt-like block
that a hardcoded soil list left out; on 26.1.2+ the fruit previously never
appeared there at all (`#minecraft:supports_melon_stem_fruit` didn't cover
it), and on 1.21.1–1.21.11 it could grow but immediately popped back off.
The seed/stem itself still requires tilled farmland, unaffected by this
fix.
- **NeoForge 26.2 mods list icon** — Chrono Dawn's icon was missing from the
in-game Mods list, and a `logoFile` deprecation warning appeared on
startup. NeoForge 26.2 now uses `bannerFile`/`iconFile` instead of the
deprecated `logoFile` (still used as-is on 26.1.2 and earlier).
- **Fabric 26.2 startup** — the Fabric build now requires Fabric API
0.160.0+26.2, since Architectury API 21.1.9 needs that version or newer.
Older Fabric API releases caused Fabric Loader to reject the mod set at
launch.
- **Portal frame integrity check** — breaking a Clockstone frame block no
longer silently removed the portal without the glass-break sound and
particles. The frame validation checked the wrong axis and only required
one of four neighbors to be valid, so most frame breaks (including the
common case of breaking a side frame block) went undetected. All 14
supported versions are fixed.
- **Missing Shield Echo subtitles on 1.20.1 and 1.21.1** — using a
Chronoblock Shield logged "Missing subtitle translation" for
`subtitles.chronodawn.shield_echo_generate`,
`shield_echo_active_pulse`, and `shield_echo_consume`. These versions
keep their own lang files instead of sharing `common/shared-1.21.2+`,
and were missing the three keys.
- **Chrono Dawn portals could generate on unsafe terrain** — a new
outgoing portal could land in a cave, over a cliff, or in water/lava
instead of open, dry ground, because portal generation fell back to an
unsafe height when it failed to find clear terrain nearby. Portal
generation now searches nearby terrain for clear, dry space, and the
arrival portal's lifecycle handling was tightened to avoid
cross-dimension exit detection. Fixed on all 14 supported versions.
- **Chrono Melon Seeds recipe didn't unlock in the recipe book** — the
Chrono Melon Slice → Chrono Melon Seeds recipe worked but never
appeared as known, unlike its sibling Chrono Melon Juice recipe,
because it had no recipe-unlock advancement.
- **Pulse Hog, Timebound Rabbit, and Temporal Caprid couldn't be bred
with Chrono Dawn-native food** — despite living in the Chrono Dawn
dimension, these mobs only accepted Overworld food (carrot, potato,
beetroot, golden carrot, dandelion, wheat), unlike Ticking Sheep and
Chrono Bovine, which already ate Time Wheat. Pulse Hog and Timebound
Rabbit now also accept Temporal Root, and Temporal Caprid now also
accepts Time Wheat.
