# Changes
### Nether Essence
- Each Nether Essence Shard can now be used as fuel to smelt 32 items.
- Each Nether Essence Block can now be used as fuel to smelt 300 items.
- Entities walking on Nether Essence Blocks suffer damage and ignition effects similar to lava-infused farmland; sneaking or wearing boots enchanted with Frost Walker or Fire Protection prevents this.
