this is the v3.0.0 release. Fabric-only → Fabric + NeoForge, new Void warning section, new motion glyphs, new command palette, and a rebuilt config screen. ## At a glance - Now on **Fabric and NeoForge** (separate jars) - New **Void warning**: dive line blends toward a warning color as the void approaches - New **motion glyphs**: dive / climb cues now end with a different gesture - New **command palette** (`Ctrl+K` / `Cmd+K`): search and run every setting and action - Config screen rebuilt: **sections instead of tabs, search, undo/redo, per-setting reset** ## New: Void warning (new `Void` section, on by default) Entirely new since 2.1.0: - **Two modes:** `Predicted` (uses fall speed, default) and `Simple` (uses Y height). - **Lookahead:** when the warning starts fading in. Predicted also pulses at 5s / 3s / 1s. - **Simple mode:** `Blocks above void` distance. - **Void floor:** `Auto` (world min height − 48, auto-detected per dimension) or `Custom` per-dimension Y override. - **Warning color:** solid color or pride flag, with its own custom stripes. - **Forced-line tuning:** separate tolerance / max-offset overrides while the warning forces the dive line visible. - Terrain-aware: no warning when there is a collision block below you before the void floor; descent filtering is preserved. ## Amplitude cues + motion glyphs - New **motion glyphs** (on by default): a brisk pull-up gesture after a dive cue, a slower release after a climb cue, so the two turns don't look identical. Fades, stays attached past line ends, only shows when guides are visible. - New **Pull-up tempo** (700ms default) and **Release tempo** (1400ms default). - New **Repeat dive cue / Repeat climb cue**. Climb repeats by default, dive does not — lets a cue re-fire after it fully ends without waiting for the opposite cue. - New **Cue flash** intensity. Turn it to 0 to keep the glow/color change with no white flash. - Velocity sliders: finer steps, coordinated so up stays below down, capped at 5 b/t. - Retuned defaults: down velocity `2.0 → 2.2`, up velocity `0.2 → 0.5`. ## New: Command palette - Open with **`Ctrl+K` (`Cmd+K` on macOS)**. New keybinds for palette key + modifier, plus `open profiles`. - Searches **settings, profiles, and actions** in one list. Frequently used actions float to the top. - From the palette you can: open/toggle/enable/disable/set/reset a setting, switch/duplicate/reset profiles, open JSON, expand sections, undo/redo, toggle the whole mod. - New **Command palette appearance** screen: shadow, blur, accent color, base color. Per profile. ## Config screen rebuilt Was tabs in 2.1.0, now collapsible animated **sections: General, Pitch, Line, Amplitude, Void, Interface**. - **Search:** `/` or the search box filters rows and tells you why a row survived. - **Per-setting reset:** modified rows show `↺`. Click it or press `Delete`/`Backspace` on the focused row. - **Undo/redo** for edits. - **Shift+scroll** adjusts the setting under the cursor. Wheel otherwise scrolls. - Smooth pixel scrolling, remembers scroll per screen/profile. - Clearer rows: distinct shapes for sliders / cyclers / dropdowns, dimmed disabled rows, right-click a cycler to step backwards, rotating tips (folding, reset, undo, expand-all). - Hex box accepts `#`, color sliders aligned. ## Profiles and saving - Edit a profile's settings **without making it active**. Active profile is marked `●`. - Profile actions in a second-level strip: add, rename, duplicate, reorder, reset, batch delete with confirm, sort by **A-Z / Created / Modified**, relative timestamps ("just now", "3h ago"), `Based on: bundled default / custom` indicator. - Profile editor scrolls smoothly and keeps position during the session. - **Save conflict dialog:** if files changed on disk, you get a diff view with `Keep mine / Reload disk`. Approved conflicts retry cleanly, local edits are preserved. - **Save failure dialog:** `Retry / Stay / Discard` with a plain-language explanation. No half-written files, no lost caret/focus. - **Read-only safety:** configs from a newer mod version open read-only instead of being clobbered. Bad values are repaired to defaults. ## Colors and pride flags - 9 new flags: **Abrosexual, Aromantic, Demiboy, Demigirl, Genderflux, Genderqueer, Polyamory, Polysexual**, plus **Custom**. (thanks @such-a-wonderful-nickname for their contribution!) - Custom flag: pick which stripe you're editing, scroll/shift-scroll to step, `+`/`-` to add/remove stripes. Available on guide line, amplitude cue, and void warning. ## Flight detection - **Trinkets dependency removed.** Detection now looks at the chest slot. New General → Flight detection. `Any elytra glide` (default) vs `Equipment check`. ## Small - New opt-in **Flight telemetry logging** (General → Diagnostics). Local log only, nothing sent anywhere. Off by default. - Better Mod Menu description and NeoForge mods-page info, new icon. - Per-frame HUD sampling for pitch / cue flash / void pulse, so cues stay smooth at low tick rates. - Warning pulses kept visually distinct from amplitude flashes. ## Migrating to v3.0.0 - **v2.x profiles are read as-is.** Anything new arrives at its default (see defaults above). Unparseable values are repaired, not deleted. - **v1.x single-file config auto-migrates** on first launch. Only tuning values carry over. The old `config/elytra-pitch-helper.json` is left untouched and never read again. - Config now lives in `config/elytra-pitch-helper/` with one JSON per profile in `profiles/`.
