# Molten Veins 0.8.0
Crying obsidian can be vein mined now. I also stopped the mod from vaporizing blocks you can't actually pick up, and gave the settings screen the tidy up it badly needed.
**Minecraft:** 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2
**Loaders:** Fabric and NeoForge

## Crying obsidian support
It's in. Crying obsidian vein mines like everything else, and it gets its own toggle in the settings screen right next to regular Obsidian, so you can have one on and the other off.
On by default. If you keep a respawn anchor setup somewhere and would rather a stray vein key press didn't eat it, switch it off and you're safe.

## Fixes
**It no longer destroys blocks you can't harvest.** This was the big one, and adding crying obsidian is what made me spot it.
Minecraft lets you break obsidian with a stone pickaxe. It takes an age and you get nothing for it, but it does break. Molten Veins breaks its blocks instantly, so if you held the vein key on an obsidian cluster with the wrong pickaxe, the whole thing just quietly vanished. No drops, no warning, nothing. Same story with diamond ore and a stone pick, or any ore above your tool's level.
It now checks your tool before every block and skips anything it can't actually harvest. Wrong pickaxe means the vein stays in the ground where you can come back for it with a better one.
**Item icons were floating away from their names.** In the block list, every icon was drawn a few pixels up and to the left of where it belonged, so it sat above the text instead of beside it, and the first column poked out past the edge of the panel. Icons now sit properly in their row, lined up with the name they belong to.
**The section headings were printed on top of the rows underneath them.** "Features" landed right on "Auto-Smelt", and the rest were nearly as bad. The headings were never really part of the layout, they were positioned by guesswork at draw time, so they had no idea how tall the things below them were. They're laid out properly now and given real space of their own.
**The Mining Limit slider was almost invisible.** The bar you drag along was drawn so dark against the panel that you couldn't see it at all, so at a low limit it looked like a lone orange square sitting in empty space. You can see the whole slider now.
**Your settings could fail to reach the server and never try again.** Follow-up to the multiplayer sync from 0.7.9. If the send failed at an awkward moment, usually right as you were connecting, the mod had already ticked your changes off as sent and would just sit there until you touched a setting again. It retries properly now.

|-----------|--------|----------|
| 1.21.8 | `moltenveins-0.8.0-mc1.21.8.jar` | `moltenveins-neoforge-0.8.0-mc1.21.8.jar` |
| 1.21.9 | `moltenveins-0.8.0-mc1.21.9.jar` | `moltenveins-neoforge-0.8.0-mc1.21.9.jar` |
| 1.21.10 | `moltenveins-0.8.0-mc1.21.10.jar` | `moltenveins-neoforge-0.8.0-mc1.21.10.jar` |
| 1.21.11 | `moltenveins-0.8.0-mc1.21.11.jar` | `moltenveins-neoforge-0.8.0-mc1.21.11.jar` |
| 26.1 / 26.1.1 / 26.1.2 | `moltenveins-0.8.0-mc26.1-26.1.1-26.1.2.jar` | `moltenveins-neoforge-0.8.0-mc26.1-26.1.1-26.1.2.jar` |
| 26.2 | `moltenveins-0.8.0-mc26.2.jar` | `moltenveins-neoforge-0.8.0-mc26.2.jar` |
Grab the one matching your version and your loader, drop it in `mods`, done.
**Fabric:** Fabric Loader plus Fabric API. **NeoForge:** the matching NeoForge version.
**Java:** 21 for the 1.21.x jars, 25 for the 26.x jars.
Your config carries straight over, and the crying obsidian toggle switches itself on the first time you launch.
