- **New: NeoForge support** - A JAR for NeoForge for Minecraft 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2, 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.8, 1.21.5, 1.21.4, 1.21.3 and 1.21.1. The JARs are now named `wizards-of-lua-fabric-...` and `wizards-of-lua-neoforge-...`. - Permissions: WoL's commands have NeoForge permission nodes, with the same names as on Fabric. The nodes of dynamic commands are answered by LuckPerms only. - On Fabric only: `PermissionCheckEvent` and Placeholder API. A world moved between the loaders loses the entities' `extra` data from 1.21.6 on. See the [FAQ](https://wizards-of-lua.net/faq/#fabric-or-neoforge-what-is-different). - New: [WizardsOfLua.loader](https://wizards-of-lua.net/api/WizardsOfLua/#loader) tells a spell which loader it runs on. - **New: [World:getHeight](https://wizards-of-lua.net/api/World/#getHeight) and [World:predictHeight](https://wizards-of-lua.net/api/World/#predictHeight)** - `getHeight` gives the Y of a column's topmost block, with or without grass, leaves and water, from the heightmaps of a loaded chunk. `predictHeight` gives the one the world generator will make, and whether it is water or lava, without generating anything. - **Change: The Journey example plans its way in a second or two instead of 15 to 20** - It plans from the predicted terrain, so the server no longer stands still for every place it looks at; each waypoint finds its safe spot when the player goes there. A starting point at a shore no longer ends the search with an error. - **Fix: `spell:summon` with NBT no longer overwrites it with the random traits of a natural spawn** - `spell:summon("sheep", { Color = 14 })` gave a sheep of a random color. As with `/summon`, a mob summoned with NBT now gets no random color, equipment or age. - **Fix: `Bot:chat` refuses a message that a player can't type** - More than 256 characters disconnected every player who got the message; such a message, and one with a character a player can't type (like a line break), now raises an error. - **Fix: `string.format` and string patterns gave wrong results** ([rembulan#33](https://github.com/wizards-of-lua/rembulan/issues/33)) - `string.format("%02d", 8)` gave `" 8"`, and `%q` wrote a backslash and bytes above 127 wrongly. `("ab"):match("^(.-)$")` gave nil, and so did the trim idiom `"^%s*(.-)%s*$"` on a string without trailing spaces. `%f` ignored the `^` of its set and never matched at the start or end of a string. - **Fix: `/wol` needs the permission node `wizardsoflua.wol`, as documented** - Every `/wol` command needed `wizardsoflua.wol.spell` instead, so a player granted `wizardsoflua.wol` and `wizardsoflua.wol.startup` couldn't run `/wol startup`. - **Fix: `/wol extract examples` and `/wol extract api` work on every NeoForge version** - On NeoForge below 1.21.10 they failed with "source directory not found". - **Fix: Bots work with LuckPerms** - LuckPerms didn't know bots: on NeoForge it refused them every command, on Fabric it tried to refuse their login, and no grant reached them. Now LuckPerms loads a bot's data when it joins, as for a player. - On NeoForge 1.21.1, 1.21.4 and 1.21.5, LuckPerms needs another build: see the [FAQ](https://wizards-of-lua.net/faq/#which-luckperms-version-works-on-neoforge). - **Fix: Bots climb waterfalls without falling out** - Swimming straight up through falling water one block wide, a bot drifted past the middle and out of the water, and fell; waiting there for a path, it rose and drifted off too. Now it climbs with the jump key, as a player does, and keeps to the water. And a bot standing at the water's edge no longer tries to dive from there for good, and a bot that follows someone who breathes in a pocket of air under water no longer waits at its distance and drowns: it comes on to breathe too. - **Fix: Bots don't fall off narrow ledges** - A bot sprint-jumped along a diagonal row of blocks as if it were straight, and off it; it came down past a ledge one block wide that it dropped onto; and a task that stopped or started over in the middle of a jump let go of the keys, so the jump fell short. Now a bot sprint-jumps only where the way is straight, steers down onto a narrow ledge, and finishes a jump it has begun.
